Should KD request a trade to OKC and finish his career there?

Post#1 » by akula1488 » Mon Dec 11, 2023 12:20 am

OKC has tons of asset so they can keep their young core and with KD they can contend this season. Winning a ring for OKC the franchise that drafted him will redeem his reputation and undo the sour taste when he left them last time. I think a package of Giddy plus draft picks will do. OKC can still contend even after KD retires so not a lot of downside for them.
Suns better start rebuilding because Beal is turning into one of the worst contracts in the league.

If OKC has to trade for KD they won’t be as good as the Suns

He should finish his career in Seattle when they get their team back.
It will happen. And i believe it's the only way for him to become likeable again.

He should demand a trade back to Brooklyn, and then back to Golden State, followed by a trade request to OKC. He should then demand OKC go back to Seattle.

Just keep demanding trades.

I don’t want him for free. If he came back here and won a title with what was built without him, I wouldn’t enjoy it one bit. The Durant chapter in okc is closed and I prefer to leave it that way.

No thanks.

Still a great player but rather he’s not coming back.

It’s easy to say that but Durant was your only leverage at Championship Contention for years, OKC has not had the juice to be at that level since 2016.

What’s your thought process in consideration for KD returning to OKC?

I made this thread in the off season. He fits in perfectly at PF and adds 50/40/90 shooting, passing and length and defense. If you put Jdub at SF with his wingspan he's a nightmare for other teams

Presti should trade Giddey and four first rounders to Phoenix for KD. Phoenix gets all those picks to put depth around Booker and Beal. .

Yup... he could pretend like he wants to back to the team that drafted even though it's clearly the best spot for him to win just like Lebron did with the Cavs :)

And why should okc do this?
Why should okc be too nice to someone who betrayed themselves?

I don't understand this current era. Actions have consequences and no matter how **** things you do, for some reason it is expected for people or teams to forget/ignore this. Comical.

If he wanted to, which he doesn’t, OKC would take him back instantly. So stop the nonsense lol. Also if he went back to the Warriors everyone would be back on that “this isn’t fair” stuff. Only fair when lebron gets the all star teammates.

Who is “okc” in this instance? The fans or the front office? The former are split with more probably being in favor of him coming back. The front office is not going to part with major assets for a player of his age and injury history. It’s soon to be 2024. A decade of Jalen Williams is better than a year and a half or Durant. If he wanted to come as a free agent, maybe.

KD should be able to win with his current team. They need to trade Beal for a real PG. They should have traded for Jrue Holiday.

The NBA needs to get going on a Seattle team. That's where KD should finish up.

I think once KD retires he will be embraced again specifically by OKC and GS. It'll take a while though in OKC similar to how it'll take a while for the Magic to embrace Dwight again. Not to mention that Durant won't get his jersey retired in OKC before WB, Collison and he certainly won't get it in GS before Curry, Klay, Draymond and might not get it before Igoudala either. It all depends on how players leave and what happens to the team afterwards. Melo probably would've had his jersey retired already in Denver and might even have retired there to end his career if not for Jokic and everything that happened afterwards. Now, I don't see the Nuggets honoring Melo before not only Jokic, but not before Murray, Gordon, or any key role player from the title team.

No, he should form a superteam in Seattle once the SuperSonics return. They’ll have a top draft pick and max cap space.

I have no doubt his number will be retired in OKC. He is the best player in that franchise's history. And I wouldn't be surprised if he goes back there to finish out his career.
