My main point is that you can't say that a 19-year-old who plays against starters will have a career similar to Ennis or Dante Exum.

For one, ABs defense is going to keep him on the floor. Two, he looks like he completely defers on offense. If he were on a bad team, I think they'd ask him to take it to the basket more where he's a good finisher and draws fouls at a high rate.

AB will finish this season and still be younger than Suggs and Cole at the start of their rookie seasons. I think AB will have 3-4 years of big gains.

Black is going to be really good. It's still possible he could make an all-star team or two.

If you throw enough s**t at the wall…some of it will stick.

Well, Rob can be right.

What if we traded Paolo and/or Franz…

Agree on Black. Kid has a lot of potential.

I’m excited to see what Black can do with his game over the next couple of seasons. He’s built to play bully ball which is our strength, he just has to learn how to work a defense to get into his spots. When the game slows down for him, lookout.

Black just didn't have to be an offensive juggernaut on this basketball team. His role is 3&D. However, in comparing him and Markelle, I am more inclined to AB.

I'm pretty sure he had 3 steals and 1 block in the 3 quarter. The Magic held the Cavs to 15 in the quarter.

No we must curse him and say that he isn't coming along after going from 3rd string to starter.

Kidding of course.

To my eyes, the game already looks slow for him. some of the reads he makes are so fast, frankly he looks like the fastest processor of the game on our team, like maybe not even close, I'd say Ingles but his super power might be patience coupled with his feel and vision.

With that said , AB can't shoot (yet) he has made plenty of rookie mistakes, sloppy turnovers, caught cheating or out of position on defense. He's also made some crazy defensive plays, and is really good on man.

When Black gets to averaging 14 points a game, he's going to be a cheat code. Up Up Down Down, L/R/L/R BA...too long of a nickname?

Imagine Black and Suggs next year after another year of seasoning. I think opposing guards would be lucky to get off a shot much less take over a game. A backcourt of 6'5" and 6'7" capable of staying with anyone is just insane. If Black can follow Jalen's route and get a 35% 3point shot to go with his slashing, we'll be in good shape for a long time.

That does provide a great framework for thinking about Black's archetype. Love the fit with Suggs, Franz, and Paolo.

Black can be as good as Suggs or better on defense without sacrificing his body as much.

His length and natural instincts gives him an edge.

Suggs game is based on dedication, reading, effort, and putting his body on the line.

Black can become a marvel on defense if he wants too.

The beginning of Black being removed from the SL might happen tonight. I hope it doesn't though. He hasn't been a numbers monster. He has helped contribute to W and played a role.

Tells me that if he figures a couple of things out he has a long long career ahead of him.
