Playoffs are how the better team is decided. It’s the real deal, the IST is a gimmick made up for gamblers and children.

To date I have seen IST stans claim it is more valuable than X (insert all kinds of nonsense). On this board we have even seen them try to claim the IST tilts the whole Lakers/Celtics rival in favor of the Lakers…solely based on the IST. Will the madness stop soon? I don’t know. Hopefully the fever breaks at some point so the rest of us with historical knowledge of the game can continue on in peace.

New idea..IST for December. Great. Winner is only the second IST winner of the year. Therefore winning on a small handful of Tuesday’s and Friday’s in December is now 3x more valuable than a division title after 82. Hey…let’s do the same in Feb. This is fun! Or it’s dumb. People have to pick.

But every team would've done this, wouldn't be surprised if it's required to legitimize the tournament. But it doesn't make it any less dumb to hang a banner for a regular season tournament that has no purpose other than being a gimmick to make the RS less boring.
