LaVine will be a Laker, I think it's much ado about nothing.

I'd rather have DLO than LaVine if I'm the Lakers. In fact, I'd help them facilitate this trade if I'm the Sixers to get DLO, who is having a career year now that he understands his role is to not be the superstar.
I assume this is Brand doing Klutch a favor. I can't believe they are vey interested unless it's super cheap (read: Tobias straight up).
Actually makes more sense if it’s the lakers doing Klutch a favor. They’d be trading a bunch of guys who play real minutes and also who are on 3 year contracts which is the opposite of what Chicago wants. And only have 1 first round pick to include on top of that. I think it might be time to face the fact that we are in fact the only team interested in Lavine
Has anyone actually said we’re interested? I feel like it’s just Shams (who is almost always reporting from the agents/players perspective) saying we are “expected” to be or something like that (and then it’s gets aggregated with people saying whatever they want) but then Neubeck or someone with sources from the team saying we’re not.
Agreed on the Lakers package making zero sense for the Bulls.

Stein too. The local guys are the ones who just say exact what they’re told from the team. Woj shams and stein have all said we’re interested and the local guys have said the opposite. Almost like we want to maintain maximum leverage

lol you’re only saying this because you don’t want him. What about the lakers package makes sense. Coby white is breaking out as we speak tell me why they want to bring in Dlo and Vincent on three year deals

I will take Zach for Tobias straight up
But I expect Klutch to work it out where the Lakers and Bulls split the value down the middle.
Something like LaVine and Caruso for Rui, Reaves, and Russell.

I would be willing to bet a ton of money they don’t move reaves

When did he say that? Literally the only part of this 3 week old article that isn’t paywalled is “Don’t look for Zach LaVine to wind up with the Philadelphia 76ers.”

I’d have to go dog, but what I’m saying is if you’re expecting any of the local guys to do anything but help morey with leverage you’re wasting you’re time

Pompey will carry water for an agent but otherwise probably right there.

My opinion, is it's like I said a while ago. The Sixers are trying to get Lavine and Caruso. Hence the reports on Caruso, that makes 0 sense for Chicago.
Sixers are likely not offering more than cap relief and minimal assets for Zach, I mean it is Morey..... But willing to add draft capital for Caruso too
.

How does Zach Lavine fit on our team?
How’s the rotation gonna be like?
How’s the offense and defense gonna be like?
I find that Lavine and Maxey backcourt will be similar to Donovan Mitchell&Garland or maybe.. Dame&CJ? In both cases, defense was the issue. Cavs solved this by playing double big, which is the only solution I see. And how are we going to get Embiid usage?
He doesn't.
It'll be worst than MItchella and Garland. Mitchell can defend, and had the rep of a great defender coming out of college. Garland can't. Maxey is a sieve and so is LaVine.
Worse Lavine will take touches from Maxey who is a more talented scorer than LaVine.
Offense will look pretty good, but I see more of Maxey deferring when he shouldn't and it being the LaVine show.
Defense will probably be worse.
On top of that LaVine is just as injury prone as Jo. Don't want too injury prone stars on your team, see the Clippers as a potential outcome.
Lavine took a backseat to DeRozan, he'll do the same to Joel and Maxey. He's got his last deal, and he's just as capable of playing off ball and moving without it as Maxey. Offensively he's the perfect fit, when you include the fact he's athletic and maybe a better finisher attacking close outs.
Just like most big 3s, you rely on scheme and buy in to connect defensively, which we've seen both Maxey and Lavine do even last year. You rely on your defensive stars, which Philly has in Joel, Melton and others... Perhaps Caruso. Because of the Harden trade for depth, the Sixers are in better position than most trying to acquire talent, but much of the flexibility goes away if they wait until the Summer. So while Zach ain't perfect, he is available and fills the offense need, and would make this team the favorite this year with the depth they'll still have, especially if paired with Caruso

Imagine facing the Celtics..
Celtics plays their 5 of Jrue, Jaylen Brown, Tatum, KP and Al.
Who would Lavine and Maxey defend in that 5 man unit? Lavine on Jrue then Maxey on Jaylen?

Jrue —> Maxey
White —> LaVine
Brown —> Tobias
Tatum —> Batum
Porzingis —> Embiid
They could go double big but unlike last year, we have transition offense. We would run them back into that smaller lineup.
Not a LaVine guy but unless we’re letting them switch Tatum onto him for stretches I think he would be okay lol. Celtics are Tatum iso or drive kick team. I don’t see what they would do that they didn’t try against Harden last season. Defense wasn’t why we lost that series. Well besides Tatum game 7

Imagine facing the Celtics with maxey as the only real perimeter threat. They will force all of our non dribbling non creating and non finishing guys to beat us

Yeah, but if they have Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum at the 2&3, what would you do?
And Batum at the 4? He’s a bad rebounder for a PF.

And you think Lavine or Maxey is gonna breakdown the defense of Jrue Holiday, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown? You wont send help if those 3 are defending those 2.

So your solution is what? Let melton and Tobias try instead?

I mean Batum will be guarding Tatum so whatever position u wanna call it. Tobias & Oubre probably will see him some as well but Batum been drawing the best perimeter player when he’s on the floor.
As for LaVine, he’ll have to adjust to the system like Maxey and Melton. Neither can guard Brown or Tatum either. U hope they take contested jump shots but if they drive on you, embiid crashes and LaVine better run his but to the corner and take away the Al or Porzingis 3 like Maxey does. Melton good poking from behind so I probably shoulda left his name off lol.

My solution is doing a different trade but i want to explore this angle where Lavine to Sixers make sense.
