I'd welcome PJ back for sure. Method of acquisition would be the potential sticking point. You know he's going to get you extra possessions with his motor. You know he's going keep the team on the same page with his communication. You know he's going to see things other guys don't see -- HUGE asset in the video room. And maybe most importantly, he's going to bring accountability to the forefront.

Agreed it is really what you give up for him. He's worth less than his last stint but he definitely has some locker room value and some value making life uncomfortable for opponents even if it's only 15-20 minutes in the playoffs.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
If the Bucks had brought Bud back and this is how poorly the team looked at this point of the season the fan base would rightfully be hounding the team to fire him.
It’s crazy to me that there is a large section of the fan base defending Griffin when he hasn’t shown anything to defend.

I agree. The only thing people can come up with is it's early. No actual redeeming qualities though.

I feel like griff being a first time head coach is an important factor here

An assistant for 15 years. On a championship contender before he got there, his leash should be (and rightfully) very short.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
This team is old as **** and already has a championship, I'm not buying an even older PJ Tucker is the missing ingredient in the locker room or that he's going to somehow fix Griffin's dumbass system. It would be fun if he got bought out but I'm not sure the Bucks would be his first choice then, its more hoping he just freaks out on Griffin and leads some kind of rebellion as player-coach. This isn't why you trade for a guy, Horst just needs to nad up and fire Griffin while this season can still be salvaged.

Is it really though? This isn’t the Pistons, this is a championship roster chock full of veterans.

Yes. Things take time. I never liked the hire but i understand it if they thought it would help them keep Giannis. Once you make the decision to hire a first time head coach, if you do not expect growing pains, you're fooling yourself. No amount of expectation changes the rate at which a human can learn a complex set of skills. It might even make it harder and therefore slower.
We are just past the 1st quarter of the season, a game out of first, and a 57 win pace (easily over our vegas projection of 54). Could we be a better team? Definitely. Do we have some really bad warts? Definitely. But if the alternative to letting Griff continue to find his way is another round of Joe Prunty leading us into the playoffs, im crossing my fingers w Griff every time.

It's not a championship roster and reforming bad habits of superstars while integrating new vets and seasoning youngsters as you work the entirely new makeup of the 2023-2024 roster into shape isn't ever gonna look pretty. It's the unrealistic expectations that are at fault here: every team has to earn it every year and that's not any different b/c grif is coach and it was pretty stupid to dump pj b/c his contribution was so on-point for the bucks roster and purposes - had to get that in!

Any roster with Giannis, let alone Giannis + Dame is a championship roster. There’s no excuse for this team playing this bad. I’m tired of blaming the players, Philly had Harden + Tyrese and they didn’t look this inept. That’s all Griff’s scheme. These guys aren’t going to grow into a scheme that is fundamentally broken.

Listened to Bill Simmons and Doc Rivers pod. Bill of course trashing the Bucks right and left (he’s not necessarily wrong at this point).
Doc took the ‘optimists win’ approach. Said that once Dame and Giannis figure it out, everything will fall into place with the other guys. Thinks they can still win a title, and will get it together by the time the playoffs roll around. It all sounded great to me……then I realized he’s auditioning for a Bucks HC opening if it happens.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
Any talk that we aren't contenders and/or don't have a championship roster is nonsense.
The challenge is getting to the finish line in June and is that better achieved with a different coach. Our coaching options are limited. And it's not a matter of "anyone would be better than AG". That's nonsense too.
We have about a 3 year window with this current roster. If Giannis stays long term we can certainly retool down the road and make another run. But our time is now. We can't fall short and then make a coaching change.
Edens and Horst have a big decision to make and the clock is ticking.
ETA: If Giannis/Dame/Khris/Brook go to Edens/Horst and say "this isn't working, AG has no clue", a change will be made.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bill Simmons might have a more punchable face than Mike Dunleavy Jr.
