Were they able to deal with it internally when he knocked out Poole ? Didn’t seem to stop his reckless behaviour from getting worse.

At this point other players are at risk of getting assaulted if they go up against him - the NBA is the one that has to guarantee the safety of them. I don’t trust GSW.

That’s the point. This is a franchise and a leader in Curry who has watched the guy punch Poole in the face and then passive aggressively **** talk Poole all year before dumping his salary. Never once did Curry or Kerr publicly admonish Draymond for what he did and they don’t even stand up to him.

They’ve continuously enabled him and never been real with him about how he’s costing the team.

A proper franchise has standards and bare minimums. My franchise is not one of them, obviously. However, the Warriors have proven they are not one either.

i gotta be honest i dont... really... understand this. they wanna give Green the time he needs to deal with his issues? What does that mean? Somebody has to be in charge of deciding what the parameters of that are, and when theyve been met. this is just such a strange way to go about this. Itd be one thing if the NBA simply let it be known that he is suspended, but the specific length of time was still being worked out. That would be necessary for notifying the warriors that he wont be available for their next game... but to instead say that setting any kind of timetable isnt important... thats odd.

But it’s great because it keeps Draymond and GSW in the dark too.

This kinda feels like a copout to me. Rather than just settling on a clear, lengthy, and highly warranted suspension period, they've essentially designed a form of discipline that allows Draymond to control his own fate by fulfilling some undefined set of conditions. It leaves room for the possibility that if he shows he's undergoing some form of counseling or therapy he can return within a few weeks. I think it would have been better for them to go all in and suspend him for 25 games so there's a clear understanding of what the consequences are.

If the goal is to rehabilitate him, what’s wrong with saying he can come back once he’s rehabilitated? Isn’t that better than some arbitrary number of games?

Does anyone think Dray won't sit in whatever sessions they require him to and say all the right things? He knows how to play that game. He's not getting an extended suspension. This is some weak stuff by the league.

Is 10 games supposed to be harsh punishment for his violent actions?? I agree with a previous poster - if the league doesn't address this in a proper matter, the players themselve should take care of him. And then we will have another malice at the palace incident and everyone will be acting surprised. Someone should have leveled Dray a long time ago.

If I owned a team I would have signed thugs like Danny Fortson on 10 day contracts a long time ago, with the understanding you'd pay the fines for them to brutalise Draymond until he was a whimpering bitch.

First missed shot of the game, elbow to the face on the rebound, then knock him to the floor and just start wailing on him until you get dragged off. Next game someone pulls his shorts down and kicks him in the balls. After the game when Draymond talks back have the Fortson-esque posse waiting for him after the game ready to beat the **** out of him. Snake in his locker. Car accidentally got smashed up. Etc. The league is going to step in before long, but by that time the league and Dray are going to learn his antics can't continue.

It should be 25 games at a minimum, but closer to 50. And there needs to be stipulations to be re instated. The anger management courses obviously and whatever counseling they think he needs. Dudes a scumbag though and it also needs to be made clear that any future incidents like this will result in a whole season suspension no questions asked

I think the real issue here is he doesn't see this stuff as wrong. It's all "physical play," being "tough," hard defense, and protecting teammates to him. The Gobert incident was probably worse than this, he didn't care.

Took him long enough don’t you think ? Let him get away with choking and dragging Gobert across the court. Gave him a slap on the wrist for only 5 games.

I feel like this is 100% in reaction to his comments after the incident... the fact that he thinks its no big deal and doesn't care and won't change the way he plays...etc... Giving him 5 games doesn't change anything except more vocal complaining by him.... so the league is trying to force him to start changing his language/attitude about his behavior and he's going to likely have to admit his actions were wrong and that his behavior is going to change moving forward... etc....

Guaranteed he is. I shouldn't be surprised that people are complaining about this, but I am. The last time a player was suspended indefinitely (Arenas, I believe) he was out for 50 games. He's not gonna be back any time soon, just watch.

i hope you are right. i wanna see him get 25 at least. but all this "counseling" business and the fact that they haven't set a minimum feels like they're trying to have it both ways. look tough but leave a loophole so they can bring him back sooner.
