Bruh he can't even get minutes on the worst team in the league lol

The Pistons are 9 points per100 worse when he's on the court, dude sucks

Y'all need to realize that everybody has great high school mixtapes, that don't mean much.

It does when other teams in the Eastern Conference climbs the ladder while we stay where we are. See Cavs when they traded for Donovon Mitchell.

I am not saying that any of those players will help but if we're going to sit here and wait for Embiid or Giannis or SGA then what are we really trying to do with this core? Y'all are fickle with who you want... we haven't won anything since the 70s.

I actually don't mind getting DeRozan in a 3 way trade so we can see how far we can go with 4 guys that can go 20+ any night. He will be a rental for 1 year and y'all don't need to stomach a Lavine's contract for multiple years.

How about Bojan from Detroit?!

It's all about value. Derozan as a 60 game rental at 34 is not worth a large package. But if he's available for something reasonable, sure. If they can get Derozan in a bundle with say Caruso then it could be worth more in return.

Statistically Bojan looks great. But he's one one of the worst teams in NBA history and his team (last 6 games) actually does better when he's not on the floor. He's also a brutal defensive player which is, at the end of the day, what got Fournier's ass glued to the bench. But if the Pistons aren't looking for too much for Bojan, sure. But folks that think you can simply plug Bojan's Pistons stats into this team and everything else is fine is bit batty.

Gordon Hayward is back up to his normal production lately. Now at 15/5/5 on 47/37/77 splits. Always been a great all around player and very versatile even at his somewhat advanced age and checkered injury history. This is who we should be targeting instead of Bojan and Derozan if we're going the vet rental route...

Brings some much needed passing on the wing. Decent floor spacer. Decent defender and has playoff experience. Also has natural size for a 4 when Randle doesn't have it on certain nights.

He should be very gettable and helps fill some gaps that we currently have.

1) Randle + IQ for Zion, straight up

2) Fournier + two 2nds for Gordon Hayward

3) Upgrade Thibs in the off-season

On Williamson...

Yes, Zion Williamson laid an egg in Vegas last Thursday, and the unavoidable comparison didn't help his cause. The 23-year-old appeared about a quarter as sprightly as the 38-year-old LeBron James, as the Pelicans lost to the Lakers 133-89 in the semifinal round of the In-Season Tournament. Williamson had 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting, with two rebounds, three assists, and three turnovers in 26 minutes of a game that largely consisted of garbage time. He did not look conditioned enough for the two-way demands of the NBA, and frequently caught his breath instead of dialing in on defense or on the glass. Williamson had been playing well recently, but that performance was enough for the bloviating class to declare open season on the poor Pelicans forward.

The TNT nu-vaudeville routine of Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal addressed Williamson with uncharacteristic sincerity, as if urging a troubled youth back on track. "Somebody has got to get a hold of him." Barkley said after Thursday's game. "'Cause he got so much talent. He's going to be somewhat successful, but he could be special. I don't know if he has a Moses Malone, who told me I was fat and lazy. He owns that organization already." Comparing the Pelicans star to himself, O'Neal said that Williamson "does not run hard" and "does not rebound," referencing his own early career follies.

The weekend offered no respite for Williamson. On Monday's episode of First Take, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith was claiming he had sources in the Louisiana culinary community and passing along their reports verbatim. "You got chefs in New Orleans who love him, they're looking for him," he said. "The word out on Zion Williamson is that 'he'll eat the table.' I'm quoting." Smith doubled down on his gastronomical reportage on Tuesday, supposedly after talking to Williamson's stepfather. He was trying to help Williamson, you see, by telling him "what they're saying about you behind your back."

I know folks hate Randle but the notion that the same people that hate Randle are going to end up absolutely despising Williamson is very real. To bank on the "he doesn't want to be in NO and if you simply swapped the 'O' for 'Y' he'd be fired up is a pretty risky gamble. To eat himself to his current state, given the talent and overall positivity he has there with the Pelicans is alarming. And you can only blame everyone else but Zion so much (and we know how Knick fans LOVE to blame their "best player").

Randle at the very least produces and he produces at an extremely high level that just is not superstar level. A 300+lb Williamson isn't going to be able to produce at a superstar level either. So if Knick fans are ok with getting a Randle like level player production then ok. But that's not how fans work right? They want to trade for the superstar Zion and expect superstar Zion. What happens if (and right now very likely when) you aren't getting superstar Zion? What happens when you get the current version of Zion who has played more than 29 games in a season just once in his 5 year NBA career (let me repeat...he has played more than 29 games a season just one time in 5 years due every single bit to poor conditioning)?

Rhetorical questions of course. We know exactly what will happen. Knick fans will look to burn him at the stake like never before for disappointing them and not being able to do the impossible. What Knick fans did to Marbury, Melo, etc. will seem like a WS parade. Him wanting to be in NY as a driver for Zion to become a better player? Marbury and Melo both also wanted to be in NY and that didn't change either of their spots either did it?

On the flip side, if I was Zion's advisors the absolute last place I'd suggest he try to go to would be NY cause it's an absolute catastrophe waiting to happen. Can you imagine the absolute venom that will be slung at him in MSG if swapping the "O" for the "Y" doesn't do diddly to get him to rethink his NBA existence.

I dont think you can win with Randle on a roster

but

someone posted 10 clips of Zion vs LAL. those 10 clips in 1 game were worse than anything randle has done for an entire season.

This is more or less a microcosm into how most fans think. There's too many that look at x player as literally just x player, no nuance, no grey area.

It’s why when LeBron is a ghost in the shell vs the Mavericks in 2011 or against the Celtics in 2009, we can’t understand because he’s so talented how could that happen?

It’s why when Durant, who every team would sell their soul, mother and firstborn for, goes to a 72-9 Warriors or follows Kyrie instead of going somewhere where he would be the main star, it doesn’t make any “logical” sense, why would he do that?

They’re human at the end of the day and Zion with his weight fluctuations & inconsistent motor isn’t going to just magically go away if he goes to a different team.

We gotta stop looking at players from strictly a talent perspective or just strictly from a character perspective, there’s a middle.

I wish Pascal Siakam was more realistic. I'd be pissed if the Lakers or Heat get Siakam or Anunoby at a discount. Forcing less outside shots is a major factor in Randle's return to all-pro level scoring. Imagine how much a skilled big who can pass and shoot could help. Imagine one less guard and one more forward. I also hope the Suns implode and the Knicks can target Kevin Durant next season.

Keldon Johnson? Not ideal but he seems to have the right attitude and a fair contract to go with it.

If Zion didn't have issues to fix, there wouldn't even be a chance to get him in a trade.

23 year old star with an insane ceiling? If you're not trading away your entire future to get him, you take that chance...period.

Randle, Quickley for Zion is a good risk reward trade for the Knicks.

Knicks don't seem to care about signing Quickley....and Randle is about to be 30, hasn't shown he can bring it in the playoffs, and is coming up on a new contract.

If the Pels are with it ..you do it.

I endorse this message.

Brunson + RJ + Zion is the start of something...

It's a shame our organizations are petty b****es because OG for Fournier + 24 NYK FRP + DAL FRP + MIL/WSH FRP would be good for both of us.

Toronto could talk up the "3 FRPs" they got for OG before he walked in FA, while we wouldn't really be sending out anything that impacted our ability to make our "kawhi trade" if one became available in the summer / next season, as we'd still have all of our kids and be +2 wrt future FRPs.

Brunson | Quickley | McBride
Barrett | DiVincenzo
Anunoby | Grimes
Randle | Hart
(Robinson) | Hartenstein | Sims

We'd still be a 2nd tier playoff team, but OG would help bolster our POA defense, which should help us avoid having to scramble as much, which should mean giving up fewer uncontested 3s.

Randle + Brunson for Zion + CJ is the crazy swing if Luka doesn't ask out this summer. Even if Thibs and RJ got Zion focused, he's not going to start defending like he did at Duke again. So the defense of a Quickley-Grimes backcourt would probably help more next to RJ & Zion...and in a 6th man role McCollum could still be dangerous.

Won't happen unless Brunson asked Rose to be traded and Dolan was going to fire Rose if he didn't, but if we're getting crazy and we don't get the chance to go after someone safer (like Luka or Booker), that's the Zion trade I'd try to make...and I'd press to add a DDV or Hart for Murphy or Jones swap, as well.

Quickley | McCollum | McBride
Grimes | DiVincenzo/Hart
Barrett | Jones/Murphy
Williamson
Robinson | Hartenstein | Sims

Yeah he was looking like what you get if you cross Eddy Curry with Chris Smith at times.

At the end of the day the Knicks and all of the rest of you should have listened to me when I said they need to go all out to get Jimmy "WTF happened to yo hair" Butler a few years back when it looked like the Heat was going in a different direction. But no one listened to me and thought I was nuts. Just like when I said the Yankees needed to go all out and get Verlander from Detroit instead of pussy footing around with guys like Sonny Gray. Didn't listen to me then either. A whole bunch of naysayers. I hate you all.
