I hope we're never in a situation, on a team with Giannis, Dame, and Khris, that the SG needs to get a bucket. Our SG should feed off of them, and that's it.

I wouldn't say any of the 3 is better than the other, they all have different skill sets.

Bucks down 1. 14 seconds left.

Giannis has the ball. Porzingis and Horford double-team him. Jrue is locking up Dame. Khris is too tired to run down the court. Brook is clogging the lane. But the SG, he's open.

Which of our SG's do you want that to be?

Cmon now, Khris isn't dogging it at that point of the game. Some of yall need to put some respect on the man that dropped 40 in a Finals game.

The answer is Beas though.

The guy who shot 35% from 3 with a 53TS% on each of the last 2 teams?

Nah, bad choice. The best shooter is the 2nd year pro who hasn't missed a free throw since February of his last college season. That includes NBA, G League, Preseason, and Summer League. Ridiculous level shooter. He torches it from 3 everywhere.

agree with everything, but i think it would be more revealing to add ratings to each dimension for more texture.. so i'll do that now:

Assuming 5 is league average

Best shooter
1. AJG 9
2. Beas 8.5
3. Marjon 4
4. AJJ 2.5 (gets a little bump for showing proficiency in stand still catch and shoot 3s, otherwise horrendous)

Best ball handler
1. AJJ 8
2. AJG 4.5
3. Marjon 4
4. Beas 4

Best passer
1. AJJ 8.5 (has amazing vision, isn't always accurate)
2. AJG 5
3. Marjon 3
4. Beas 2.5

Best defender
1.AJJ 4.5
2. Marjon 4
3. AJG 2
4. Beas 1

obviously Andre and Marjon have a ton of potential on defense but currently each are routinely out of place or getting baited into fouls.

Love all the trade scenarios that want to move Midds on the logic that his knee might be shot but ignoring the fact that if it is that bad, no team would give up anything of actual value for him because he wouldn’t pass the physical.

Like the Bucks will somehow hide these red flags in a trade and still get back something that not only replaces Midds value but is better (since a lateral move only hurts chemistry without moving the needle).

And yeah, if the question is who do you want to take a last minute wide open shot (and it can’t be one of the big four), Dairy Bird. Not sure how that’s even up for debate.

AJJ. And after the stop, call a timeout and put Beas or AJG in.

That would require a head coach who actually utilized offense/defense substitutions at end of games…

Beas is a better ball handler than you’re giving him credit for, but I mostly agree with the list. I’d like probably put Marjon’a defense at 3. He hasn’t shown a ton there so far this year. Otherwise pretty solid.

You can't move AJG to 2nd as best defender. We were all told that AJ Green was the worst defender of the 21st century. how could beasley be worse than him?

I meant a rating of 3, not 3rd in ranking!

This is the correct answer, but the premise is wrong. Use the open SG to screen for Dame and get him the damn ball. Do you think the Bulls were contemplating: Hmmm... do we want Paxson or Armstrong getting the ball here?

Could see a respected vet SG requesting a deal to the Bucks from some dumpster fire team.

Guys will see the opportunity to grab a starting spot and contribute to a deep playoff run.

Doesn’t mean the Bucks won’t have to trade value to get value but player / agent considerations also come into play. Might be closer to the deadline though when it’s clearer what teams are out of the play-in even.

Man I hate Marcus Smart but looking at potential trade partners Grizzlies check a lot of boxes.

Ja Morant comes back Tuesday.

Steven Adams is out for the year.

Smart could be coming back from injury as soon as Monday per Memphis Commercial Appeal. They can’t be thrilled with how it’s gone with him so far.

Grizzlies are 6-17.

Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz speculated towards these ends a few weeks ago — it’d sap our significant tradeable salary slots if not all our available assets (maybe we keep the 2nd or MarJon), idk how I’d feel about it:

Milwaukee Bucks Receive: G Marcus Smart

Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F/C Bobby Portis, G/F Pat Connaughton, MarJon Beauchamp, 2024 second-round pick (via Portland Trail Blazers)

On the thought process behind this deal, Swartz wrote, "After the Boston Celtics were able to eventually land Jrue Holiday, the Bucks counter here with Marcus Smart, creating absolute chaos at the top of the Eastern Conference... For a Grizzlies team getting ready for the return of Ja Morant but without Steven Adams for the entire season, the front court now becomes the priority."

To me, that feels like a lot for Morcus Smort. Would have to consider it though.

Say what you want about Bill Simmons and how he immediately trashes ex-Celtics the second they leave Boston, but the guy was spot-on when he said that Smart was clearly on the decline the past couple seasons. Hard pass. He's not the playoff difference-maker he used to be, and that's before even getting into the fact that he's impossible to root for.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
