Honestly, I wasn't looking that much at Gradey Dick during draft season because I thought he wouldn't be for one he available, and two didn't match the Raptors philosophy. When they did draft him I felt they drafted for need than talent. Now I'm not saying Dick isn't talented but his talents have not translated to the NBA yet. He's still young and need to fill out his body and process the game better for us to see results. Though right now I don't see him contributing to the team this year. He needs a solid offseason of work.

He was so good in college, and now he can’t even start in the G league. This has got to be mental.

I don't recognize Gradey out there.

Stauskas 2.0? Fredette 2.0??? :noway:

Nah, I'm gonna give Gradey some time.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

If there's one positive to look at, it's his FT %. If you can shoot 90% from the line (NBA + G League combined), your shot mechanics have to be very repeatable and consistent which gives hope for the in game shots to eventually start dropping.

I was at the 905 this evening. It was another disappointing loss for Toronto. Dick did not distinguish himself in any way and may have made just one three. He did not play the last several minutes of the 4th quarter which was a curious decision by the coach. Actually the team did not play well and I don't think there is anyone on the 905 that could make any meaningful contribution to the Raptors in the event of an injury.

So we beat Delaware two nights ago without Gradey, tonight they beat us with him playing.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

And it all comes down to the Poletl trade. That trade cost not only cost a future pick, but likely a better pick in last year's draft. Imagine if Dick just isn't an NBA player. :o

Season is a wash, he won’t be coming back up by the way he’s looking. At least he had that one 16 point game.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

His FT%?

Well, hey his shoes seem to fit too so there’s another positive.

There we go, more positives to look at.

Throw him in as part of an OG or Siakam trade before other teams look too closely. He’s still a lottery pick with ‘potential’.

Jimmer Fredette and Adam Morrison say hello :)

It happens though. You really need to be special to have a long career in the NBA. I was expecting to see a bit more in the G league but you’re right, he’s probably in his head too much.

I thought he'd be at least as successful as Christian Braun.

Masai says play in for what. :banghead:

Gotta stay the course, not make the Poeltl trade. Draft Kessler and this summer draft Cason Wallace AND sign Poeltl for the full MLE with max raises. Also, NOT sign McDaniels and NOT accept the team option on Thaddeus Young. Getting old Thaddeus Young was also dumb. :banghead:
