Perhaps the biggest surprise on the trade block is new power forward acquisition John Collins, the source said. The 26-year-old has the lowest on-court/off-court splits of any rotation player on the team, and the team has been frustrated with his slow uptake on learning the Jazz’s system on both ends of the floor. Collins has been a solid shooter and rebounder this season, but hasn’t contributed as much elsewhere. – via Salt Lake Tribune
I look forward to seeing what return Danny gets.
I have a question for those of you who watch/follow more NBA basketball than I do.
Seems like Hawks players that are integral parts of the our team/franchise, leave Atlanta and almost immediately become NBA vagabonds.
From John Collins to Cam Reddish to Taurean Prince to Jeff Teague to Dennis Schroeder to Kent Bazemore and even Josh Smith. All these guys played serious minutes for the Hawks and most were long term starters. Then they left the franchise and just bounced around the league coming off the bench before fading to into NBA oblivion.
Is this normal? To have so many rotation guys turn out to be barely league average players once they leave the franchise?
