Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
Luka drops in MVP ladder again. Makes no sense. Embiid wouldn't even play if he had such depleted roster. Probably fake an injury.

¿Maxi/Holmes+Hardy?
If that's all it takes, absolutely. If UTA wants to save money off cutting people, Dunn, Fonteccio and Yurtseven all fit well here too. Fonteccio in particular looks a good fit here.

I don't think Dunn wants play with Luka after last game
Fontecchio and Yurtseven are good role player.

We’d probably have to add the 2nds to that. But I think it’s good.
I think Dallas should consider moving THJ if they do this. Collins doesn’t replace the shooting but he replaces a similar level of offensive production. While adding size and rebounding. Collins isn’t a great defender but THJ would be addition by subtraction.
There are some young talented defensive teams that would probably pay a good amount for THJ. He’s recovered a lot of value, Houston or Orlando?

Re: Dallas Mavericks 2023/24 Trade thread
8. Bol Bol
Bol Bol's signing with the Phoenix Suns this past offseason was a move that was extremely hyped up. Some people thought that Bol would be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year, but so far, Bol has not been given the chance to play much at all in Phoenix.
Bol is averaging just 2.4 minutes per game and has only played in five games. He isn't even in the Suns' rotation at this point.
This is a massive shock, as Bol had an excellent season for the Orlando Magic last season and looked like he could be a great rotation piece going forward. The Magic gave him a chance that the Denver Nuggets never really did, and he thrived.
Last season for the Magic, Bol averaged 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. He is one of the most unique players in the NBA, and he would give the Mavs (once again) much-needed positional size.
Bol is a 7-foot-3 power forward, but he moves like a guard. His ability to score in the open floor is insane, as he is hard to stop in transition and has the length to finish extremely tough shots around the bucket.
Bol would be a fun piece to have in Dallas as he gives them size in the frontcourt and is only 24 years old. Having lineups of him and Dereck Lively II on the floor together would be intriguing on defense, and I think Luka Doncic could help him take his game to the next level.
Bol is also someone that the Mavs have targeted via trade over the last six months, and maybe they'll think about making a move for him again.

This team is heavily dependent on Luka and Kyrie. It makes zero sense to give up THJ. If you add Collins with a filler or two and a 2nd round pick, you do it. But you do not get rid of THJ unless your bringing back someone as good or better on the offense end. Personally, he has good chemistry with this team so I would be very reluctant to give him up.

Based from what you even saw live. Would you be then comfortable with Hardy running the 2nd unit? Because he's 1:1 replacement for THJ.
I'm not sure he's ready for that, yet. I thought he will be before the season but THJ was quite on fire before this Twolves game.

It would be on brand thats for sure.
I don't hate the idea of Draymond but Lauri is the guy we need.

We can't give up THJ right now (ouch, it hurts. I know
) unless we take a replacement.
Lauri was our guy, now he is too expansive. No chance.
Green has all time low right now...value just like Kyrie last year... We have to make a try.

I say we sell high on Hardaway.
Hardy is the closest to replace him because he is just as inconsistent and all we need to do is remove "awa"
Right now Hardy sucks and THJ is ballin.
Next week it could be the opposite.
I'm sorry but we aren't anywhere near a contender with Hardaway having such of a prominent role so I say move him while he isn't a negative trade asset.

I can't say Hardy and THJ have been going back and forth. Its really just been THJ playing like 6th man of the year. I would only trade THJ if your bringing in someone who is allstar level at the PF position.

Live or not live Hardy shouldn’t be running anything. He is not a point guard. He gets his own shot and that is it. If he wants to be an elite role player in this league 1. He he’s to be more consistent, he has had a lot of games where he looks like a borderline all star, and a lot where he comes out with the 2nd unit and we all say “send his ass back to the bench for the rest of the game”. If he can meet somewhere in the middle 80% of nights he could be a 6th man. And 2. He needs to continue to be better defensively.

We should consider moving THJ because we could get assets to get a defensive up grade this season or in the offseason. It’s better to be the 5th best offense and 12th best defense then it is to be the 2nd best offense and 25th best defense.

If you look a little bit closer to Mavs stats, wins are very correlated with how THJ is playing. It's very questionable, if 1 better defensive player can make up for what we will be losing in scoring.

The concern I have with Hardaway is the most likely closing lineup that will include Luka/Kyrie/Hardaway in it and he better be hitting his shots because we aren't stopping anyone.

I completely agree with the correlation but you seem to be more confident than i am that Hardaway will keep this up all season.

It's really simple, if he won't keep up, Mavs won't win many games, especially without Kyrie. There's nobody that can replace his scoring and it's really not easy to get that kind of a player on the market. 20 points and D is an all star and max player. I would be glad, if we could upgrade THJ, but it seems very unlikely. Thybulle for example would be much less useful.
We need upgrade Josh/Hardy, who really are expendable. Josh, Hardy + FRP for defensive 4.

Exactly. That's why i'm not comfortable moving THJ. Unless it's someone capable of what THJ can't actually do. And that's everything besides shooting lol.

Mavs should take a chance and sign Lofton Jr. The Grizzlies waived him...he's undersized, but can bang down low...waive Morris maybe... it's nothing spectacular, but he's Young, was member of youth National teams...Just get him maybe to slim down a little
