Save Caruso from himself

Post#1 » by nekorajo » Fri Dec 15, 2023 11:13 am

He obviously can't tell if he's healthy. That's why he keeps getting reinjured. And for some reason, the Bulls are enabling him. The FO, doctors and Billy need to add at least 1 week to his recovery time or Alex's career is going to be shortened. He came back too soon against the Spurs and now against Miami. How many times are they going to make the same mistake?

this is one of the reasons why I said it might be time to trade him, and I love alex, but he's very injury prone. Best ability is availability and if he keeps getting hurt 5 minutes into games, we might have to sit him and see who's the highest bidder.

I'm torn on him. His style of play is risky, leading to injuries, but I thought exactly the same about Butler when he was here. I think a big part of his problems are tied to him playing too much at a forward spot and doing too much in the paint. That's why I love his increased focus on the 3 ball. If Zach goes, I love Caruso at the 2, guarding the best scorer at 1-3.

I don't mind trading him but the haul would need to be BIG.

The problem is we can't play him or trade him if he's injured. They need to let him fully heal before he returns to action. No more coming back at 90%

Not sure how to save a guy from stepping on Vuc’s foot. If he’s cleared to play he should play.

He's always been fragile, but year to year it's not the same injury every time, it's arm, ankle, shoulder, knee, right left, and he's getting a year older every year. Yes he's shooting better this year, I think he has enough of a reputation to make him attractive to another team who maybe thinks he'll stay healthy, I'm ready to move him as soon as he can play a couple of games in a row.

He's less crucial to the Bulls the way they're playing now. Coby is gaining on the defensive end, Ayo improving on both ends and deserves more minutes, Carter is a strong if small defender. Get a PF in return so if Lavine returns or DeRozan can play the 2 the front court if covered.

Basketball is a sport where ankle sprains of various grades happen... quite often...

That offer would have to include a young all-star.

And they take time to fully heal. Caruso, who was upgraded to questionable yesterday, is apparently the exception though.

He’s the most valuable trade asset on the team by far and the player who most impacts winning. Arturas knows if he goes full rebuild he will get fired -Caruso isn’t going anywhere

AK definitely screwed the pooch in this regard with The 3. But AC is the one guy for which it’s not too late, presumably.

That's pretty irrelevant when the injury occurred when he landed on someone's foot.
