It was nice to see the Jays destroy Suggs and Cole Anthony on switches. Those 2 are just try-hard bitches that got humbled.

Not gonna lie. I'd love to have Suggs coming off the bench here.

Anyway, my vote for VC is the small ball lineup. Having Stevens or Brissett at 5 with other 4 starters allows the team to play fast, to switch any time they want on defense and makes it easy to hide the lack of O those guys have. It’s what I expected when we signed those guys and is what we need to utilize the bench over 82 games. May not see it in playoffs but it’s a great way to limit wear and tear on KP and Horf.
That block was only necessary though because Jaylen missed a rotation. That was one of those good result, bad process type of thing, and definitely not something I would bring up to Jaylen's credit.
You’re reaching here mate.
I’ve rewatched the play & Jaylen looks like he was either cutting off the pass on the inside to the roller or cutting off a drive inside for Mitchell.
Even if was a missed rotation, everyone does it (even the best defenders). Not giving him credit for thinking quickly & saving an easy basket doesn’t do you any favours when people question whether your critiques of Jaylen are genuine or not.
Jaylen doubled Mitchell for no good reason because he likes to stare at the ball then when the pass was swung to Garland, he stares at the ball and waits like a full half second before realizing he has to rotate to Allen. It was a boneheaded error, pure and simple, and the fact that he flailed his arms and got lucky doesn't make him a good defender. It's true that every player misses rotations now and then, but good defenders do it less. That's my point.

Can anybody believe the Celtics impressive brain trust actually gave a Supermax to a guy who can do this to a top 4 EC team known for its defense and physicality? On the back end of a back to back no less?

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I like Suggs tbh, he's a dog. Coming back from that injury was pretty tough.
Cole Anthony is a loser

That’s on White for not communicating because if you watch it again you’ll see White was still guarding Allen when Jaylen turned around.
And no he didn’t “flail his arms”. He timed the block perfectly when he knew Allen was pump faking right at the last second.

You can't keep blaming Jaylen's teammates for not telling him the fundamentals. At some point the accountability has to be on Jaylen Brown for not making simple reads and ball watching on defense.

But your getting annoyed at him for doubling Mitchell but wanted him to go straight to someone who was already being guarded at the time he turned around ?

Yeah because it was clear as day that White had to rotate to Garland who had a wide open three. I'm not asking Jaylen Brown to be a Draymond-level of defensive savant, just make the simple reads.

Also I'm not annoyed at Jaylen, I just think it's misguided to praise him for making that block/strip when his error was the reason Allen had an open layup opportunity to begin with. It's like a pitcher getting himself into a 3-0 jam then getting bailed out when the batter flies out to the warning tracks.

Their best game in a while and missed it. They looked good in the highlights. Teams are shooting really well but they are still beating them lately. I guess that's Good and bad at the same time?

Nice win.
VC goes to Pritchard and White.
Pritchard was great. His 3 point shooting helped big time, especially since we started so cold from 3 before he came into the game.
21 points on only 10 shots for Payton. The 5 assists and 0 TOs were great too. 6 for 7 on 3s was amazing.
White with 19 and 8 assists along with 4 steals and a block.
Hauser was really good. Probably his best all around game of his career. 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. He did it all with his parents sitting courtside next to Wyc.
Tatum and Brown were good too.
Stevens and Brissett played well. Queta was good too.
I've been saying Stevens and Queta need to play more and have said Stevens, Queta and Brissett are our toughest players along with Jrue. If you guys noticed, Orlando couldn't get physical with us like last time because Stevens, Brissett and Queta got minutes.
Props to Joe and the entire coaching staff for a great game plan. This game showed we have a good, deep bench. They just haven't gotten their chance outside of Al, Hauser and Pritchard.

He needs 30 mins a night.
Hauser is going to be very good for a long time in Celtic green.
Dude's been fantastic. Automatic from 3 (feels like cheating) and great effort on defense.

And to think people wanted to release him after like 15 shots this season.
