Giants are shopping Lincecum!

Ideally, they want a young power bat, something we have.
Rios for Lincecum?
Do it up, JP.
Ideally, I'd shop Wells, but his contract is a killer. A five man rotation of Halladay, Burnett, Lincecum, Marcum, and McGowan will take us to the playoffs, if they remain healthy.

Rios is a nice player, but I think he's redundant with Wells in the lineup. Wells is streakier, and Rios is a better contact hitter, but they both have about the same plate patience. Defensively, it's a wash. Ideally, I'd deal Vernon for the pitcher who will take the Ace reigns from Roy by the end of the decade, but his contract cannot be moved.
Pitchers like Lincecum don't come around very often, and honestly, I'd sell the farm to get the guy in addition to Rios.

You seriously wouldn't deal Rios for Lincecum?
Lincecum would instantly be your best pitcher. Which is saying a lot because you probably already have the best pitching staff in baseball if everyone is healthy.

I really don't think they're shopping him. Just some hack writer put his name down and rumors spread. The writer who originated it probably had Lincecum confused with Lowry or something.
But it is the Giants we're talking about so who knows.

He won't be next season, but I expect him to at least be comparable to him within two years. However, Halladay has made the transition from K artist to groundball pitcher. You never know. Either way, if he's offered, you have to take it. He could turn out to be Dontrelle Willis, with his slingshot delivery, but it's worth the chance for someone as replaceable as Rios.

See that's the thing. Honestly I wouldn't trade Rios for lincecum because great 5 tool players don't come around either. Amazing arm, good accuracy, excellent field coverage. Hits for power and average. Steals bases. Rios has the kind of in game potential that isn't easily replaceable.
But I would trade wells. He's awesome in 2 or 3 areas, but only average in the rest. Whatever the case, I get tired of beatwriters lookin for any quote so they can just jump on it and assume the worst and lincecum's on the market. Why in the world really would the giants make any trade involving one of the best up and coming pitchers in baseball?
