Could be one of those in season slumps where players lose their focus and their energy and effort drops defensively or it could be an early sign of Thibs losing his voice in the locker room.

one thing this team has always had with thibs is high effort on defense. to me, the fact that our guys don't seem as bought in as before seems like a sign he's losing the team. i think signing brunson's college friend and him specifically getting in our homegrown 2 way guard's way in a contract year is one example of things that could muddy the waters. especially since the player brunson's college friend replaced was quickley's best friend on the team specifically lol

the guys talk about how much the knicks miss mitch and how we're built like the gobert jazz where we don't have a standout wing defender and we need one.

I mean, it's pretty glaring.

This past summer was like that summer where they were like "we need to match Hibbert's verticality and interior presence. And we need another scorer. I know, Iet's get Bargnani."

Taj just needs to shake off the rust and get his rhythm back. We need him. He looks like he is in good cardio shape. He is noticeably not as imposing as Mitch, Hartenstein, or even Sims, but he can switch on guys and isn't afraid to shoot the corner three. We can play Taj at the 4 and not have to rely on Hart to do it at 6'5.

That lob from Jeffries to Sims was nice. I didn't know Jeffries could play.

Taj is 100 years old. The most I expect from him is to be a good veteran presence....

I'm worried about IQ's lack of outward joyfulness. He doesn't hide it when he's happy but the last few games it's been stone face. Maybe he's just tired of the inconsistent minutes? How is he not getting 25-30 a night????????!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a mystery that he plays the same minutes even when he's shooting the lights out. Management needs to decide whether they plan to pay him what he will be asking - and, if not, use him in a consolidation trade.

We have too many useful players at certain positions. Deuce should be getting minutes based on his skill set.

IQ has struggled on defense this year. He went from being a nice 2 way player to really focusing more on his offense. His assists are down from 2 years ago playing similar minutes.

I’m sure the looming contract extension is really what’s driving this, but won’t get resolved until he’s traded.

it's unfortunate to see nick nurse unlock embiid to his true potential. really wanted us to get him. cavs are winning without garland too. so donovan mitchell might be a slim shot. we are fked guys.

I dont think Donovan Mitchell saves us anyway- he just makes an unbalanced team even more unbalanced while moving us further away from our defensive identity.


If we are going to forfeit defense why not go for the 6'8"flash and dash version of Haliburton - Lamelo Ball?

We don't have anything the Hornets would remotely want for Lamelo. I'd rather just have the Hornets draft picks and their roster though, they are in line for the 5th pick we are in line for the 17th pick. Neither team is winning anything. It's the treadmill life, your team isn't competitive and you don't get a competitive draft pick.
