Even if you think he’s better it just doesn’t seem like enough of a difference where they want to cut a guaranteed deal and sign someone new (repeater tax) and teach a new guy the system in season.

Well we don't like playing at home. We lost to a floundering Bulls team. Jo chokes in a situation where he's got Coby White dead to rights at the rim. I just can't with this team sometimes. I get blowing out teams like the Pistons and Hornets is what we're supposed to do, but this team cannot win tight games. We just can't do it.
This season is still fun, I'm not trying to be a downer here, but it's a fact with this team. I just don't think Joel can help himself when the game gets tight. It's like he goes into panic mode and whenever he does, he fumbles the **** away. It's been happening for years. We need to let Maxey close. If Maxey wants to be in the conversation as one of the best guards in the game, then he needs his shot at closing ball games.
That play was a gimme either way! Maxey had Vuc beat off the dribble and Embiid had the switch with White. It was there for the taking. Nurse drew it up and Embiid choked. Oh well, it's on to Minnesota. Time to play a real basketball team.

Joel is having a historic regular season, but I'll still bet the mortgage that it won’t sustain in the postseason. Not trying to come off overly pessimistic.... he's just not that guy when the lights are on.

He just needs to talk with his big bro Jimmy, who is the king of pacing.
And until we stop pushing this 4 out roster structure, it wont change. Because you have a roster designed for him to let him keep shooting it.

Jo has to agree to take a step back. That means getting someone good enough to take his shots away. You can do it some with Maxey, but I think the kid will just default to deferring to the big oaf.

Joel takes a big step up to DPOY level in the playoffs, and his offense tapers off. Kinda happens with many NBA players.
They need offensive fit more than anything

It wouldn't be a proper use of talent to have Jojo solely focused or too focused on defense. Ideally, he should still be the focal point on offense, and the team should still perform well on offense when he's not playing—capable of winning 1-2 games in a playoff series even if he's not at 100%. Additionally, the rest of the team should be better defensively, so he doesn't have to bear such a heavy defensive load.

Of course he'll still be the focus, and while tonight wasn't an example of it. Good teams often take the ball out of his hands. Having a team capable of take advantage of that coverage is the key.

I wonder what a middle ground trade could look like for the Sixers. Not a 3rd star deal but something helpful to add some firepower in the backcourt.
A few ideas:
Morris for Caris Levert
Morris & Furk for Dinwiddie
Morris for Markelle Fultz

I’d love a Fultz trade for minimal assets and expirings. Like would the Magic take a flyer on KJ Martin? Or Springer and salary for Fultz and a 2nd.

Morris and a 2nd for Fultz would be very helpful for the Sixers. I don’t know if Orlando would do that.
CHI gets Tobias
ORL gets LaVine
PHI gets Fultz and Isaac
Maybe that?

Fultz has only played 5 games this season and made 0 threes.
I don't understand the obsession around here to bring again non shooting, injury prone, mental flawed duo of Ben and Markelle. Please god no.
All the good Markelle can bring with his size and defense you lose it with his non shooting and mental flaws. He's not a serious contender calibeer role player. In that archetype of player we need someone like Caruso or Marcus Smart.

Well we drafted Fultz and it did not work out. So we traded for a player that Fultz could have been like, Harden. But that did not work out, so it's just logical we trade back for Fultz and see if we can swing a deal for Simmons.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

You have to give up real assets for those players tho & I highly doubt Morey is not going to use his hard won picks on Alex Caruso.
Fultz would be more of a cheap flier while we keep our powder dry for whatever happens this summer. It’s probably irrelevant because Fultz has a nagging knee injury & doesn’t have a good analytical profile.
I’m just more interested in generating ideas around a 3rd guard trade that doesn’t involve a huge investment. That feels like the most likely course of action this year.

I would suggest watching more Caruso because it’s very possible

Caruso was a difference maker tonight. Problem is that he keeps getting hurt.
