For that 4-game stretch:
Giannis: 36/12.5/4.5 (in 36 minutes)
Embiid: 38/13.5/4 (in 30 minutes)

Both won 4.

Embiid was significantly more productive on court, but Giannis played better teams and had a career night. It could have gone either way.

Luka keeping the Mavs in this, despite having a rubbish starting lineup. Making his case for top 3 candidate even stronger after his performance.

Denver are winning even if Jokic is ejected, is DNP or not filling up the stat sheet. That's going to hurt his narrative.
Even with a big win, Jokic's 8/9/8 v Luka's 34/7/8 is not going to help his case, especially when everybody else is putting up massive numbers.

I don’t think he cares. He wants to win. He won’t force anything to stat pad. He is just as happy scoring 8 pts and winning than putting up huge numbers. He gravity is impressive. He is not heliocentric. Tbh I rather win than not.

Told people Denver’s team isn’t bad. They’ve won against Luka and the clippers without Jokic.

SGA with his chance to do the 3 quarter thing against a bad team tonight. Ends up with 30/9/5 and 4 steals in doing so.

People just looking at stat sheets.

Literally one play where Jokic was triple teamed and he found Murray open for a three. He demands so much attention on the court. He gets all of his teammates involved.

There are many different ways to dominate a game.

28 games into the season (I was going to do this after 30, but I don't see things changing in two games), my rankings (2023-12-18):

1. Embiid (+1)
2. Shai (+2)
3. Jokic (-2)
4. Giannis (+1)
5. Luka (+1)
6. Haliburton (-2)
7. Tatum (+1)
8. Anthony Davis
9. Ant-man (-2)
10. Kawhi Leonard

(will be updated after 40 games played)

I still have Jokic #1 just because I feel like in case of a tie, you give the benefit of the doubt to the better player who has good reason to maybe not be 100% engaged the year after dominating the league in the playoffs, but SGA is hot on his heels now. He's real close to being the most valuable player of the league.

Embiid and SGA are pulling away from the rest right now but I'd also like to highlight Kawhi here. A couple games ago I'm not sure if I'd have him as an All-Star, while he's now climbed to about 6th or 7th on my list.

Tatum and Edwards continue to be the biggest headscratchers as they're both leading #1 seeds but I don't think either of them has been playing like a top 10 player individually this season.

I think Jokic gave up on RS, he has no interest in being part of the MVP discussion, he's in cruise mode till the PO...

Didn't do too much when it really counted tho

Had a big bucket in crunch time so you don’t know what your talking about. The reason the sixers lost was because they only had two players in double figures in maxey and Embiid. NOBODY else did anything worth noting.

He had precisely 1 bucket in crunch time lol. Typical Embiid and we will see it in the playoffs.

That only 3 games for luka and Gannis Embiid’s numbers are better for double the amount of time.
Embiid’s last 7 game so he’s averaging 40 13 and 5 so yes he’s on his own level atm.

He's on his own level cause he's averaging big numbers against non-NBA level centers lol. He didn't even have to get guarded by Mark Williams and Jalen Duren. He was playing against the back up centers of the worst teams in the league for 7 straight games and you're so stoked on it lol.

Just for discussion's sake, because a lot has been said about the scoring prowess of Embiid, here are Giannis' and Embiid's numbers against teams with a winning record so far this season.

Embiid: 30.2/10.9/6.7 on 48fg%
Giannis: 35.3/11.4/4.5 on 61fg%
