NBA All-Star 2024

Post#1 » by Statistician MK » Tue Dec 19, 2023 4:56 pm

Voting begins today!
https://vote.nba.com/

I'm going to vote for Barnes, Siakam, Anunoby...
AND...
I'm not going to vote for Tatum, Randle, Butler, DeRozan, Banchero and other forwards who are competitors of our players!

---

My predictions for the starters:

EAST:
Guard - Tyrese Haliburton IND / Trae Young ATL
Frontcourt - Joel Embiid PHI / Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL / Scottie Barnes TOR

WEST:
Guard - Luka Doncic DAL / Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OKC
Frontcourt - Nikola Jokic DEN / LeBron James LAL / Kevin Durant PHX
We all have different opinions, and that is one thing that makes this forum great.

Kinda wild that he has a higher chance of being an All-Star this year than winning MIP.

If Scottie makes it over Siakam it will solidify the new pecking order.

Do you really think a pecking order between Siakam/Barnes is any of the reason why we suck? Not trying to go at you but I find it hilarious how people think giving Barnes 50 shots a game will be the answer.

Some people want Barnes to play with scrubs so he gets his stats and we become even worse record wise lol. Good/great players find ways to play with other good/great players if they want to succeed.

Siakam making it instead of Barnes would be a travesty

I hope Barnes makes it, it would be a great accomplishment for him

Even if he likely doesn’t get voted in as a starter it’s still important to push for having him among the top vote getters. It’ll help him garner attention for when coaches vote the reserves and if/when Silver needs to decide on an injury replacement

It probably won’t be directly impactful but at a minimum it could indirectly help Scottie get more attention and have more eyes on what he’s doing. The All Star game is a popularity contest after all

Both could theoretically make it still.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Don't vote Giannis or any front court that would male it. You are reducing Scottie's chances

Extactly. If you vote for Giannis/Embiid/Tatum or anyone that has a chance to make it over Scottie you are wasting your time. You need to give Scottie more votes than those guys, not give Scottie 1 vote and give his direct competition with better odds votes also.

Both of you realize there's zero chance of Scottie getting more votes than Giannis, right? In fact, there's no chance he gets anywhere close to the number of votes Giannis will get. You might want to look at this to understand what he's up against, last year Pascal had around 800k votes and Giannis was at 6.7M.
