8 seconds on the clock when they crossed halfcourt. This and example above, Cs touched paint and made plays from there.

There was also one against Philly (G4, ECSF) where Tatum drove and passed out to Smart for three. He made it, but a tick too late. Didn't mind that play at all. (Though I think we lost that game in the previous play. JB left Harden in the corner to double on Embiid.)

I think I’m most disappointed that Jrue didn’t settle things down. I was told he was going to help prevent these type of meltdowns from happening

In case you hadn't noticed, Jrue is rarely allowed to play PG. The Jays completely ignore him on offense....it's disrespectful.

The best performer in the finals was Horford who put up 12-8 on 62% shooting and 62% from the three. Between Brown and Tatum it was a wash, with Jaylen scoring more at a better (but still poor--literally Marcus Smart-level) efficiency but Tatum doing much more playmaking. Either way it's a pot kettle situation. Neither was good enough and if you think one of them was terrified, you should think the same of the other.

figure out who needs to say what to make that happen.
(my preference: no TO, keep Curry and CP3 on the court, just run a high ball screen involving *any* two players to generate a good look for *any* player)

Film study, heart-to-heart, deep dive into analytics, conversation with Cassell, whatever it is, the organization needs to beat on this drum until they get their star player playing better basketball when the clock is ticking. He doesn't have to 'get it' today or tomorrow but by next spring -- use all your resources and keep chipping away at it.

Then there's Tatum. Is there ANYONE on this board who didn't know that he was going to dribble the ball down to 3 and then fire up a contested 3?

Everyone knew. Down by 3, Tatum will take a 3. Down by 2, Tatum will take a 3. Down by 1, Tatum will take a 3. Tie game, Tatum will take a 3. Up 1, Tatum will take a 3. Up 2, Tatum will take a 3.

And it's not like it's a wide open 3, our a 3 where he gets a screen and is freed up for a 3. It's dancing with the ball and a step back 3 or a side step 3 with the defender in his face. He missed about 7 out of 10 of those shots.

The coaches know this obviously too, yet they do nothing. Joe never calls timeouts. He let's the players figure it out. They have figured out how to choke away close games. There is nothing left to figure out. Call a timeout Joe! get the ball out of Tatum's hands. Use him as a decoy. Run a legit play.

We constantly get left taking less than ideal shots because we walk into sets and don’t get the actions started until 14 or less on the shot clock.

It’s either poor coaching or a bunch of players making really poor decisions late.

We had a different coach in 2022.

Don’t understand how White fell half asleep guarding Curry there for that final three…give up a two if you have to, the 3 ended that game with that little time.

Maybe i missed mention of it but white made multiple mistakes on that same drive after half chasing curry to swing at nothing from behind, luckily al bothered curry on the layup. White is the reason the big Davis got the tip to cp3 in the first place, he should have been there impeding him even in the slightest, he just kept standing there looking while the action was going on and finally realized he had to get out to curry.


Had that play been brown he would have been called every name in the book that censors would allow and ones with all the asterisks. I know this because it happened when we lost to pacers when Hali hit the trey. Of course brown should have been up as i finally realized, I was wrong, but that compared to falling asleep on the greatest shooter of all time? Pfft.
