Would you trade KA, Shake Milton for RoCo and Pat Beverley?

No. I would sign Roco as a buyout, trade Kyle and Shake for Tyus and play Miller in Kyle’s spot until he proves he cannot handle it. To make the money work trade Wendell Moore Jr for a future second.

Not sure, why PHI would waive RoCo?

Not waive, trade. He is a 12 million expiring. They are soft at PF. He is the mostly likely trade piece.

Absolutely! We get a back up PG in Bev who plays good defense (our identity) and we replace KA with a player who can defend and hit a 3 (something which KA can’t do).

Plus the fan base identify with these 2 players due to their past with us. If it works out from a salary perspective then I think it’s a no-brained.

SloMo will be a liability offensively in playoffs...we need another ball handler that isn't a non-shooter

I don't see the Wolves having tradable assets to make a meaningful trade during the season. No picks and no players to trade. If Kyle plays well - Wolves don't trade him. Kyle plays poorly - Wolves can't trade him. Adding Moore, Shake, Minott, etc. doesn't make deals better, it just adds more poop into a bag already filled with poop. Other team seldom want additional poop, unless the contracts are worth it (and then that usually comes with draft pick sweeteners). An expiring contract for the Wizards when Tyus is also an expiring makes little sense to them in my eyes. And I'm not saying Tyus is/should be the target. Third team could be brought in, but adds complexities.

Bones is an option that I hope we can consider...we won't be having ton of cap space or draft capital available going forward and I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Bones. He isn't getting lot of playing time with Clippers currently...would be cheap to trade too

Wendell is a low risk opportunity for teams, especially bad ones. We tried to change his position and we failed. We tried to develop him in the G and failed. Why wouldn’t a team that has no playoff aspirations like a Washington or Detroit take a 2 million dollar gamble that they could give him minutes at his natural position and find a two way backup?

Luka Garza is a great trade sweetener. He can drop 30+ on the G league basically on command. Is his defense that much worse than Malik Beasley that a bad team wouldn’t want a scoring big man? He has no additional salary in a trade and is essentially a restricted free agent who can be signed for 4 years dirt cheap. When asked why didn’t we want him, the answer is we have Rudy, KAT, Naz and Miller ahead of him. On a team like Washington it is a no brainer.

Shake is a non guaranteed player who has the potential when starting to drop 20+. He is underperforming here, so it is a bad fit. Getting him on a 5 million non-guaranteed deal is a great chance to get in on a potentially talented player. Why wouldn’t Washington do it?

Tyus expiring can simply tell teams he wants to be in Minnesota. Teams won’t want to pay for a half season rental who doesn’t want to be there. Who will resent being sent to them instead of going to his hometown team to compete for a title.

Kyle, Shake, Moore, and if needed Garza for Tyus. Now you find the best looking G league PF not on a two way and you sign them to a two way to replace Garza. Then you convert them dirt cheap. You also anticipate that Roco gets moved by Philly at the deadline and waived/bought out by the team who takes him (he has a 12+ million expiring contract,) and you sign him with the cap room created by dumping Moore. Tyus and Roco instead of Shake and Kyle, with Moore’s contract off your books.

Strongly disagree. The Clippers like Bones and have no incentive to move him, much less cheap. He is out of the rotation because they were too top heavy at his position. That said, Harden and Rus are both old and Harden is made of glass. Bones is their 11th man and will get real minutes this season, maybe even in the playoffs if the Clipper stay healthy enough to make it there.

Additionally, Bones doesn’t play any defense. We have seen what happens when guards don’t contain and opposing guards/wings get downhill at Rudy. You cannot trust Bones in a switching scheme or in man defense, thus he is a bad fit.

Every player listed has been terrible for MN or a Quad-A minor leaguer but somehow are going to magically turn it around elsewhere? So Washington wants a poop filled bag with extra poop? Got it. And why do people assume Tyus wants to be back in MN? I lived there long enough to know if my company sent me there I would be calling headhunters that day to get me out. The old phrase is it takes two to tango, and I don't see MN with the assets to get anyone interested in dancing. Not at the level of getting a meaningful player back. Maybe a third team wants an expiring and sends draft collateral to get Tyus or Monte. Maybe. I think Kyle has a better chance of returning to closer to his career averages than getting dealt.

Dude, did you even read what I wrote above? Tyus is leaving at the end of the year anyway. Why would he want to stay in Washington? If they are losing him anyway they will move him. Of course my premise is that he wants to be here and help lead his home state to a title. To become the starting PG in 24-25 or 25-26 for Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Karl Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert. NBA players like competing for titles and they like playing for their home states.

Talking about returns for Tyus, what do you think he gets them? A late first at best? Is a late first that much better than the package I suggested above? You don’t think the league sees value in Shakes prior years with Philly. You don’t think players ever recover from a bad half year on a bad fit team? He is forever damaged goods with no possible value? That seems silly. As for Wendell and Garza these are the players bad teams want a look at. It costs them peanuts to try and find diamonds in the rough. Moore never had a real run with an NBA offense, he is an instant rotation player on a bad team trying to develop him. He is known for his defense. Give him NBA minutes and see what you have. Garza is a scoring machine, low risk high reward end of bench rotation player who maybe develops into a scoring backup C. Why is it extra poop for a bad team? You really think the Wiz and the Wolves are in the same position from a player development standpoint?

I’m not a Tyus guy. I get what you’re saying, without Anderson, we need someone to organize the second unit. I just don’t think Tyus is more than an above average backup PG. Neither shoots it great nor defends.

If we’re going after someone making in the teens, give me someone like Bogdanovic from the Hawks. Absolute movement shooter who can also create. Can we get up to his 18m in salary? Probably not. Although having him on a declining contract would be nice if we can afford it. And I think it’s take a first to get him, which we don’t have.

At the end of the day, I think Finch loves Anderson and we’re only going to be able to acquire someone with the Shake plus Moore contracts, which is pretty minimal.

Why do you think Finch loves Anderson? I am honestly asking. Because Finch benched his *** last night 2 minutes into the fourth. Finch loves floor spacing and two way players. If he didn’t we would still have Josh Okogie and Jaylen Nowell.

I’m going a lot off what Dane Moore and Britt say on their podcasts. They say Anderson is Finch’s safety blanket on the team. Do they have inside info? Probably not. But they are around Finch and interview him frequently. I think you can get a vibe from being around and talking to someone.

Maybe, but I have been very displeased by how much of Dane’s bias goes into talking about Kyle. He has a good game and Dane says obviously Finch won’t even consider moving him. That is far from obvious. Dane also doesn’t talk about what you move him for or what the buyout market looks like. For example if you can sign Roco, do you still need Kyle?

Everybody on the planet understands that Tyus is very likely gone from the Wiz. It's been the case since he was dealt there. But any combination of draft pick(s) would beat the Wolves offer. Picks are currency that WA can use elsewhere without being tied to below league average players taking up cap and roster space. If you are so convinced that Shake is worth something, why not keep him? He is what you get when you dumpster dive in free agency (in every sport) - and that level of player is available every off-season. Sometimes they pan out, often they don't. I watched Moore a ton in college and am a Moore apologist, but believe he has no trade value at all. Same with Garza. They're waiver wire guys.

Tyus is a UFA. Who gives multiple picks for a UFA they don’t expect to stay?

Lord. You make it sound like teams wouldn't factor that into their offers. You don't suppose teams look at things strategically vs just tactically? Sorry to the rest of the readers for the thread derailment.

I feel that Moore and Luka are just fliers. A rebuilding team might prefer them over a vet (whose ceiling they know) because they have the minutes to gamble on them hoping they improve to help the team or increase their negligible trade value. However, the Wolves, as a contender, have no minutes to invest (or certainly better places to invest those minutes).

Minott and Leonard Miller are the obvious better investments for us, but Shake Milton is too. As an older player, we know what he can do, and he knows how to play in veteran rotations. Finch has been puttting a lot of minutes into him for much of the season, because simply an average Milton is a great fit for our team. Same with Kyle, if he gets back to shooting anything close to last year’s numbers.
