That's not fair.

Dude is top 10 in scoring.
Top 2 in assists.
Leading a top-5 offense in the NBA.

That's literally all you can ask from a top flight Point Guard. it's on the Coach/GM/Role Players to handle the rest.

He’s the highest paid player.

Probably in the history of the franchise.

Do they pay him for stats or results? Most teams pay on stats.

Some teams do reset, trade away their top-paid players as Utah has done in the last 1-2 years and OKC did about 4-5 years ago.

Blazers traded away Lillard so players with very high salaries do get traded.

Hawks can wait until Trae is like 32, earning $60 million or more and reset. But he’d have to ask to be traded as Dame did.

Trae's offense (mostly passing) isn't overrated.

The issue with him is he just doesn't provide enough on the other end to be the best player on your team.

That's the issue with him. If you have him on your team you need him to be the 2nd or better yet 3rd best player to seriously contend.

He's just too flawed.

He's awesome. Lethal scorer. I think if Udoka was coaching that Hawks team, he could whip Trae and that team into a more cohesive unit defensively.

Hawks have made the playoffs 3 years in a row so not sure how he only gets you 10 seed. Hawks always start off bad fwiw it’s still early. Trae is doing his part leading a top 5 offense again.

This is where it gets weird for Hawks fans. When Trae was putting up regular season numbers, 'they' said the regular season means nothing. And that he'd only be judged on postseason success. What's different?

We all acknowledge numbers are inflated. But if his numbers stand out among the inflated numbers, why wouldn't that be something to acknowledge?

If it's only about pace of play/style of play, why isn't anyone else doing it?

Trae Young has 378 regular season games. Once he hits 400 he will be #1 turnover per game in StatMuse.

Joking aside, Young is doing better compared to his other years. His eFG% is at least average, which beats ugly chuckles we know about.

After watching him in back to back games, his weaknesses are clear. Takes very inefficient shots. When they go in, it's great. When they don't, it's ugly. His overall stats reflect that. Nothing has changed, certainly not his style or self awareness.
