Franz and Paolo are really the core. Cole seems to be a solid rotational player. Everyone else can be moved and I would understand.
Love JI and Suggs but can’t commit due to injuries at the moment. Hoping both can change that be stringing together 2 seasons of 70+ games and then will add to my inner circle.

Goga badly outplayed Turner the last time we played Indiana.

I don't think you can point to any team right now playing two rookies 15-20 mpg that are competing (Chet doesn't count lol).. it's a damn hard thing to do. 2nd and 3rd year guys are tough enough. It's not that they wouldn't outplay some bad minutes of Harris or whoever else is struggling, it's just that they aren't reliable enough yet on offense and Jett is going to get targeted and even alive defensively.
They can definitely come in and play spot minutes for players struggling already though, just not counted on for day to day consistency.

I really like the idea of Lauri. Could he be like a Porzingis for us?MasterGMer wrote:I think the Front Office has to think why 3pt shooting couldn't be one of our strength?
I think lauri is intriguing. He is a terrific 3 point shooter which can help Franz and Paolo since he plays C. But if the price is too high. I'd think no

During this 4 game losing streak…
Magic 43-138 from 3
Opponents 61-119 from 3
That's 31% to 51%.

Goga being a DNP in this game is pissing me off the more I think about it. Losing winnable games is frustrating.

Fultz takes the ball out of Paolo’s hands so he can focus on other parts of his game. Also, he is more of a threat on offense.

Would have been a toss up between Banchero and WCJ for me.
It would have be someone who absolutely did nothing in my opinion. Houston would be my choice, he played 18 mins (that is 4 more mins than JI) and had O points, 1 rebound, 1 Blk, 2 fouls to show for it.
Yeah he sucked but I don't expect much from Caleb. Paolo has to play much better than he did and thus should be judged as such.
As for WCJ, I've always been on the fence with him and his play in his return only further sets my claim that he isn't the starting C for the Orlando Magic long-term IMO.
Completely understandable stances on both points.
And I go back and forth with the importance WCW. When healthy, he is a good scoring option but Goga's play shows the importance of defensive big for the magic.

I feel like starting WCJ his 1st 2 games back is and was pretty predictable.
I don’t think we have seen the last of Goga but the Magic are definitely going to let WCJ run his course.

Even more so when you see WCJ’s hand practically being in a cast still.

If the reason wasn't because of threes and missed free throws, I'd agree but he doesn't really change that right now. TBH he shouldn't even be playing or cleared, he looks bad bad. If anything Moe and Isaac needed to eat those minutes. WCJ playing on a back to back so early is unlike our medical staff.

We needed to resign Goga yesterday. Suddenly our big men situation is scary. We have Paolo, cool, but then Isaac is not reliable injury wise, WCJ looks awful, Goga is a UFA and Moe is turning back into Coin Toss Moe..

Well in fairness I'm more like I don't know if he's an upgrade or not. If it's last season's Fultz and I'm concerned only with winning now then he's an upgrade. If he's regressed with his issues and if I factor in development of Black and the fact that I think Black has a better impact on the defensive end than Fultz would have, then it becomes more of a question.RichCollab wrote:eyriq wrote:NopeMasterGMer wrote:Now everyone agrees Fultz is an upgrade over AB, huh?

The idea of Lauri honestly makes me barf. Do you plan to move Franz because adding Lauri would make us even more predictable.

Suggs also playing with one had goes to show you that things are different this year now that winning is an actual priority. I don’t love either of them playing right now. It’s not fair to them nor the team.

The only reason Fultz is the better option is because AB is a rookie.
What the Magic need to do is find a trade to upgrade the position completely but until then Fultz will likely be the starter sadly.

One could argue that we already have great POA defense in Suggs and Fultz at his worst is just average, so there are diminishing returns on how much POA defense matters if the rest of the starting lineup can't shoot. We'd actually be screwed this year if Suggs was shooting 30% or something.
Can't have our backcourt have the same strengths and weaknesses as well as Franz-Paolo-WCJ all being the same too.

Our offense is painful and extremely predictable when we put the balls in Paolo’s hands so much. Fultz has very little long term value but I do feel he could be a bit of the boost.
