Still feel like they might add Blake for the stretch run.

I’d like to trade for Beef Stew but I still think KO on a buyout is the most likely scenario at this point

Does Pat Riley go after him? Lakers? Philly?

It's reportedly due to his missing a lot of games last season but it's kinda meaningless. The Pelicans are not going to waive a guy scoring 22 on 58% shooting.

I'd say at this point a somewhat realistic list of names we could go after (either via trade or buyout)

Caruso
Beef Stew
Achiuwa
Konchar
Olynyk
Burks
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Don't think so,
likely happily retired and would have come on board earlier - time to move on.

They're doing some semi-spectacular trade...

Olynyk and Burks would be solid pick ups.

Yeah I think Olynyk being bought out actually seems fairly realistic. Utah is going nowhere this season..and they have a bunch of other bigs they can play, including a young big who's been good for them (Kessler), a big in his prime they just traded for (Collins), an all-star in his prime (Markannen) and a rookie they just drafted in the top 10 (Hendricks).

It would make sense to just buy out Olynyk, let him go to a contender and that would open up minutes for Hendricks (he would have been able to get enough reps by that time in the G league that he should be ready - not that you have to be *that* ready to get mins on a team at the bottom of the standings anyways.

Ainge and Brad obviously know each other well so they can discuss it behind the scenes. And Olynyk played in Boston before, did some good things here - so he should be onboard with returning to Boston to chase a ring, something he hasn't won yet and the clock is starting to tick on it happening, now at age 32.

It really shouldn't be that surprising if we see a Woj/shams tweet at some point that says Olynyk is being bought out and plans to sign with Boston.

Not saying it's a guarantee but I could see it for sure.

Big O or Konkhar for steady 3-point shooting... or a big Surprise, no one expected.

I thought Olynyk made too much to end up with us even if he wanted to? *on a buyout

Nah. We just can't sign a buyout guy who makes more than the MLE this season which is $12.4 mil. Kelly O makes $12.1 mil, so just barely works.

The dream is alive!

It's Fournier and Hayward we can't sign as buyouts..

Rando question, which do you think is generally a more valuable catch-all efficiency stat? FG added or TS added?

My first thought is that TS Add is more all-encompassing but what I've noticed is a little odd - ie, TS Add can be lower than FG add for a guy with mediocre FT%, even though say eg a 70% FT shooter is an efficient, valuable play type overall. It brings the number down since it is against the average.

Not sure if that makes sense but it thought it was an interesting wrinkle.

Offhand I would say better TS% and related stats are usually better than eFG% and related stats as they serve as proxy for higher FTr and 3PAr which provide value outside of scoring efficiency such as improving your defense, getting the opposing team in the bonus, and stretching the floor.
