Playing now, peak form, Gasol brothers or Sabonis dad/son?
Which pair would you choose to man your team?

The Gasol brothers are 3, actually

This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Is the third similar to Giannis' and Jokic's other brothers?

unless we get the god-tier aka nobody-really-knows-how-good Arvydas, I think the Gasol brothers are the more conservative and reliable choice.

I think between the uncertainly of Euro form Arvidas and the issues Domantas had trying to play with another big in Myles Turner, you have to give it to Pau and Marc Gasol even though the other two are individually more impressive.

Peak Sabonis dad/son leading an offensive would be amazing basketball.

Call me crazy, but I believe Arvydas had GOAT potential. He was a 7'3" athletic version of Jokic! Rumor has it he could dunk from the FT line in his early days in Europe! He could do it all on offense, plus he was a terrific rim protector on defense. Unfortunately, he never actually reached his prime due to injuries. He was a shell of himself when he entered the NBA, yet he was still highly effective. One of the biggest what ifs in basketball history.

Yeah, I suppose that first line is the crux of the question. If peak ("nobody really knows") Arvydas was as good as some people claim, it would have to be them.
I think you could still take the father/son duo in this comparison based on an assumption that peak Arvydas---even if not anywhere near the legend/GOAT-candidate that some people claim----would have been substantially better than anything we actually saw in the NBA.
That said, I like the "fit" between the Gasol brothers better, because each sort of patches in the weaknesses of the other:
*Pau's biggest weakness was his defense. Marc is a one-time DPOY [even if he was a marginally dubious selection].
**Marc wasn't poor at anything, really, though the weakest aspects of his game were probably scoring (particularly in isolation) and offensive rebounding [perhaps being more focused on defense].......those both happen to be things his brother Pau is pretty good at. Additionally, Pau has experience playing at the 4.
So yeah, I do feel like the Gasol's are a little more complimentary to each other. (I don't know anything about this third Gasol brother, if he's included)

Yeah, this hinges on how accurate the assessments of earlier, healthier Sabonis were. If they were accurate he’s the kind of elite player that win these kinds of discussions almost single-handedly. If it’s overestimation the Gasol duo raise your floor considerably and help you top out pretty high if they have the right teammates, and they are fairly complimentary to a wide variety of wing/backcourt combinations/systems. There would be of guys who would love to play with them.
