Has he ever had awful teams? They always have quality at the skill positions and for 20 years they've had stars along the front seven.

No I don't think the Steelers have had awful talent but between the corpse of old Big Ben to the variety of trash QBs since I don't look at Pittsburgh as having underachieved the past 5+ years. They've done about as well as I would expect.

If there is a thing you could somewhat 'blame' Tomlin for it's as a vet coach I'm sure he hasn't wanted to totally rebuild. But I'm not sure anyone in the organization wanted that.

Probably time for a change but to say Tomlins time there wasn't a success is crazy to me.

If I were a trash franchise I'd absolutely hire Tomlin. You can be very successful with a CEO like head coach as long as they hire good assistants to handle the tactical aspects. Id rather have that as a head coach then some genius playcaller who's a d-bag who everyone hates.

Assuming we need a new DC there are 2 ways to go about it. Try to find someone with DC experience who was successful (guys like that who are available are rare). Or a rising position coach who is ready to make the move to DC.

As for the experienced DC, that's exactly what Joe Barry was. But he sucked at it. He was first hired as a DC in Detroit by Rod Marinelli, HIS FATHER IN LAW. Later he was hired in Washington by Jay Gruden and then fired after just one season. But good friend MLF made him the DC anyway.

So who's out there with good DC experience? I'm struggling to find any. Brandon Staley had a good year as the Rams DC, which got him the Chargers gig. If Saleh is fired he would be a good hire even though he's an MLF buddy. But I think he gets one full year with AR. If Tomlin moves on their DC, Teryl Austin would be available. I don't know much about him. There is some talk about Vrabel maybe moving on to NE if there's an opening there. The Titans DC is Shane Bowen. If the Raiders start fresh, Patrick Graham is their DC. Ron Rivera likely out in Washington but I doubt he goes back to being a DC. Wink Martindale may be available.

As far as position coaches one name I hear is Al Harris. Former Packer player, currently coaching DB in Dallas.

And of course Jim Leonhard. Supposedly he turned down the DC job in GB before Barry was hired (I don't know if that's been confirmed). He was angling for the UW head coaching gig. Now that he didn't get it maybe he'd be receptive to the Packers. Or maybe he wants a college HC gig.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Truly cursed that a week after Devito wins NFC offensive POTW, Baker Mayfield gets it.

Big Ben was a "corpse" while making 4x Pro Bowls and leading the league in passing twice during that stretch we're talking about? Again, I'm not saying Tomlin's a bad coach (whether his style/scheme is outdated is a separate discussion), but the amount of excuses being thrown around to justify his playoff "shortcomings" compared to MLF is weird.

I was just referring to the real corpse last couple years.

As far as the years after they last won the SB and before Ben's body fell apart I guess he might deserve some heat but I don't remember the specifics of those years well enough to have much of an opinion. But if he was to blame they should have fired him 5 years ago or whatever. I don't think MLF is a bad coach who should be fired either. Or a guy like Shannahan who's also had his fair share of playoff disappointment.

What is Rex Ryan’s brother ( Rob?) up to? That would be fine, otherwise get someone from that Cleveland staff. They had loads of under/misused pieces on that defense and now they are maybe the best in the league.

If you haven't seen the Reggie 30 for 30 yet, watch it.

All of the video from the last interview - the one where he's wearing the Jim Brown jersey - is must watch. A tragedy that Reggie could not travel further on his earthly journey.

He was doing the work.

I re-routed my HS track training run to swing by the old Oneida St practice field to get an early glimpse of Reg at spring prac. That early 90s footage hits like a damn truck to me.

New Lambeau is beautiful, but I got a trailer full of memories tied up in the old corrugated siding stadium sitting in a neighborhood of dudes I went to high school with. Current situation looks like Gatlinburg north. Organization is now a real estate holding company that holds a dozen or so athletic contests a year. I get it, but don't mean I like it.

Without looking it up, I don't know who accounts for the other 2% other than Deguara, so I'm going to guess the new guy whose name I don't recall, even though I don't know how long he's been in the league.

Okay, I just looked it up and it's all Deguara. Melton was drafted in 2022.

I don't know where to post this, so here it is.... A breakdown of several bad defensive plays (with video and stills) from both the Giants and Bucs games (per Rich Madrid - Acmepacking)

Hard to believe the Packer defense could look any worse ... but here we are.

If/when they finally fire Barry ... the blame for this D's pathetic performance should be blamed on MLF not Joe.

I do think MLF has no excuses or wiggle room left. Wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t get a choice of the next coordinator and if we were smart it should be someone that we would be ok promoting to head coach in case we need to let MLF go in season
