I wonder where Jakob would get picked if he was in the draft.

That's the thing, you could tell me the best player gets drafted in the late 20's and I'd believe it. Nobody stands out.

If we keep the pick we should get Zaccharie Risacher. A 3 and D guy that fits perfect in what we're doing.

There's a bunch of interesting 1st/2nd year NCAA players in this draft who are not all ranked high in mocks so far. Going to use their ESPN ranks here for easy reference.

-#4 Ja'Kobe Walter (Baylor, Freshman 6'5" SG)
-#11 Kyle Filipowski (Duke, Soph 6'11" PF/C)
-#18 Ryan Dunn (Virginia, Soph 6'8" Forward)
-#20 Rob Dillingham (Kentucky, Freshman 6'3" PG)
-#22 Kel'el Ware (Indiana, Soph 7'0" C)
-#25 Reed Sheppard (Kentucky, Freshman 6'3" Combo G)
-#31 Kylan Boswell (Arizona, Soph 6'2" PG)
-#58 Judah Mintz (Syracuse, Soph 6'4" Combo G)
-#N/A Kwame Evans (Oregon, Freshman 6'9" Forward)

I've also liked what I've seen from #2 Alexandre Sarr (7'1" PF/C), #3 Zaccharie Risacher (6'9" Forward) and #8 Nikola Topic (6'6" PG) but its hard to confirm what you see with the eye test for international guys due to the lack of advanced metrics available for international prospects.

Walter and Mintz IMO seem like high upside prospects so far. Been very impressed with what I've seen from both of them. Mintz should end up being a huge riser in the mocks as the season progresses.

The rest of the guys on this early NCAA shortlist project most likely as high end role players (still with high upside possibility), a few of them being defense first guys (Dunn/Boswell/Evans), a couple being Kentucky PGs (why am I not surprised they both look good so far), and a couple bigs who I would have had graded as 1st rounders if they declared last year (Filipowski and Ware).

True. Even 2000 which most agree is the worst draft ever or at least of the last 30 years had one all NBA player.

Greek freak draft was a weak draft. 2 time mvvp.

I like his game. He's in my top 10. Check out the other French prospect Tidjane Salaun. He reminds me of Jalen Johnson with a touch less handle.

Exactly. Most of the time when evaluators call it a "weak draft" what they really mean is "not obvious" or easy to evaluate. Those are the drafts that good scouts really earn their money and find diamonds in the rough.

The scary part is Walter has been mocked in the top 5.

Never seen Sheppard play but his numbers are insane.

I want Buzelis, Cody Williams, Topic, or Alex Sarr. Stay away from Collier

Risacher is an interesting fit with Scottie as a sharpshooting wing with length

Only American guards im interested in are Dillingham and Walter

We should only really be discussing top 6 prospects unless we end up getting other picks via trade

Sadly that’s not saying much. There’s probably several Gleague PGs that are better than Flynn

I’ve seen him as high as #2, as low as #17 and every where in between on every mock draft I’ve looked at. Seems like that type of no consensus draft where the best player ends up going around 15th. What do like about Topic so much to have him first on your board?

He's really good at every part of the game, he's very young and filling up the stat sheet in a professional league. He passes well, shoots decently, gets to the rim, has great size for a point guard, and gets a good amount of steals on defense.

I've yet to see anyone in NCAA that is worthy of a top 5 pick in normal years, still early so that could change.

Arguably the best passer in the draft. His passing instincts in the P&R are very advanced for his age. Pretty crafty with his handle and he's able to get downhill. While not the prettiest, he's been able to finish in the paint with decent success. My issues with him are obviously defense and shooting. With both not being a strength of his and both skills are very important from what I'd like from a guard.

I have him top 5, maybe top 3. I need to watch a ton more, because highlights only tell you so much.

I never got the vibe that he's good on defense or shooting. Am I off on this?

In a season where Siakam, OG, and half the roster are involved in trade rumours there’s a pretty good chance we may end up with a FRP even if we convey our own pick. Of course, we do have Masai and Booby in charge so no guarantees.

The guys who would’ve been college stars are ending up in the G league now. Ron Holland and Buzelis are both very good prospects. Buzelis is kind of like Franz but a higher ceiling imo
