Re: Around the NBA
Pistons were up 8 in the first quarter. Now down 6 early 2nd quarter. Utah at 10-18 is not a good team and is missing about 4 important players for tonight. This might be the Pistons last chance to win a game this season.
The Pistons started the season 2-1 one game better than our Wolves at 1-2.

Pistons Jazz game tied late 3rd. Could this be the game where the streak ends?

Detroit loses again and I can't see them getting a better chance than this the rest of the season. They will probably win one .... won't they?

This isn’t them tanking. I feel sorry for their fans if they lose the lottery and miss out on real talent after this disaster of a season.

IMO Cade is a big time talent. Duren being out is devastating.

Re: Around the NBA
With that straw poll that just came out showing MVP leaders, it got me thinking about Ant’s chances at being All-MVP, which I’m sad to say, I’m hoping he doesn’t make, simply because it’ll cost us extra money going forward and money is so tight.
The straw poll had Edwards in 8th with two third place votes and Gobert in 12th with one fifth place vote. There was a clear top five (Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, SGA, Luka).
My initial thoughts on all nba locks unless injury issues: Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, SGA, Luka, Tatum, Haliburton, Lebron, Curry, Durant.
That leaves five slots for this group: Ant, KAT, Gobert, Booker, Fox, Harden, Leonard, George, AD, Mitchell, Brunson, Butler, Maxey, Brown, Lillard.
I could see it going either way with ANT, probably largely determined by where we finish. If we’re first in the West, he’s going to make. If we’re fourth, not so sure.

Injury is the big variable. We are 1/3 of the way into this, and the minimum is 65 games. Some big names will miss it, and from there the path will widen.

Yes, for the last 5 spots, it will come down to team records. I will add Trae Young, Zion, Bam and Sabonis to the list. Butler is not a lock this year if Heat don't finish top 5. AD, Brown, Maxey, Booker, a Clippers, a Wolves are most likely. Dame , Sabonis, Mitchell and Trae are lock if their team finishes top 4. ... Adding Fox to the top 4 team lock

League pass free tonight. Hornets just went 11 minutes without a field goal and have scored 5 points all on free throws in the 3rd. Still have not made shot.

Re: Around the NBA
Luka..Not Garza... the other one had the NBA game of the year on Christmas day. He is a huge show off LOL.
50 points on 15-25 from the field 12-12 from the line 8-16 3s. 6 rebounds, 15 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks.
For you fantasy players that will be the game of the year. Nobody is going to come close to that all around line.

He did it to Phoenix, one of only two team that passed on him in the draft. That revenge game adds to a players mojo.

The "Revenge Game" is a statistically proven fallacy. First of all players seldom have any reason to seek revenge on teams that traded them or let them go. A lot of the time the player requested it. Second in those instances players do not play above their averages. Luka, however, being the show off that he is it might actually matter.

Jaquez is already an NBA rotation player. TC should absolutely consider such type of rookie in 2024 draft: high IQ, tough, great fundamentals.

Heat and Spurs have always been great at finding these types of players near the end of the draft.

I don't have him in our RealGM fantasy league, but I do have him in several leagues with money on the line. Only way to get him off my team is to pry him from my cold, dead fingers.

I wonder who has him in our league?

That's pretty easy to check. I think you know the answer.

Re: Around the NBA
Pistons up 9-1 on Brooklyn. Does it end tonight? I really hope so.
As long as it seems like the Pistons have a chance to win I'll be watching. Back and forth with the Wolves. History is going to happen tonight. Either the Pistons set the record for longest losing streak ever or they break that streak.
