It’s a set up.

Mikal? Is he available?

Explain how they're 2 in the league if he's worse than Kanter.
You didn’t answer my question … or maybe you did.
Sengun looks worse than Kanter tonight. Stay focused.

Replaced by Jalen Smith... maybe the 2 SRP's seem about right.

I think he'll end up regretting leaving Thibs and NY. He was playing in his hometown, at the Garden, with his friend IQ, he had the NY lifestyle and he was playing in meaningful games, even if he was just a back-up.
He simply doesn't project as a starter on a solid/good let alone great team. Because he can't defend against NBA starters, and his offensive skill set is lacking for a modern 4.
It's really too bad because we could really use him right now. And he was good for us.
But I guess sometimes you just have to leave the nest.

He want the right draft pick for us though. Not his fault.

Monty was obviously able to coach a team to the Finals in the weakest Western Conference in the last 20 years - my point being he's obviously competent - but I'm not sold on him as a mentor for a rebuild.
Not that he's setting the world ablaze in Portland, but the Ayton situation in Phoenix was a bit concerning. Monty's not a Thibs personality who rallies the troops. Not a good match for where Detroit are personnel-wise.
don't forget monty also had beef with jae crowder too. i been saying this dude been a fraud for a min.

Not his fault, I agree.
But his outburst at Thibs was 100% on him and I think it sealed his fate in NY.
