After Giddy and OKC beat the Knicks tomorrow, he'll definitely rub a girl middle school class picture on his crotch defiantly

I second this...I remember several posters in that thread saying the Knicks might be as good ...but Detroit definitely had the brighter future.

The Pistons are the tank brigade’s shangri la. Every draft pick lauded. Every loss is another chance at yet another toolsy prospect. Each bust leads to the next tank

Cade tried his best. I give him a ton of respect, he didn't want that garbage (most games lost consecutively) on his resume and played like it.
That team shouldn't be that bad, but the record is the record. They'll be getting Cooper

So far "Toolsy" hasn't gotten them too far ...they need a generational prospect.

They will, he's their best overall player on both ends. The issue is that he's a center in a PF's body.

Monty was obviously able to coach a team to the Finals in the weakest Western Conference in the last 20 years - my point being he's obviously competent - but I'm not sold on him as a mentor for a rebuild.
Not that he's setting the world ablaze in Portland, but the Ayton situation in Phoenix was a bit concerning. Monty's not a Thibs personality who rallies the troops. Not a good match for where Detroit are personnel-wise.
don't forget monty also had beef with jae crowder too. i been saying this dude been a fraud for a min.
Monty now holds the record for most losses in a row. How do we feel about that?
Monty is probably at a loss as to why he hasn't been fired yet. Looks like Detroit's front office wants him to earn that guaranteed bag one way or another.

On paper the Pistons are not 27 losses in a row bad. Which tells me it's the HC. No way Thibs would lose that much with that roster.

That kind of statement is also made here after every loss

Alec Burks was even worse...man was -25 in 25 minutes...hot damn.
Here's a line from a Ringer article (https://www.theringer.com/nba/2023/12/27/24016213/detroit-pistons-losing-streak-nba-history) that pretty much gets at what I'm saying:
GM Troy Weaver hasn’t held up his end of the bargain as an architect, favoring big bones rather than good bones, depriving Cunningham of the proper foundation on which to grow as a modern initiator.
They got too many projects on that team and the ones that rank highest are: Cunningham, Ivey, Duren and Thompson. That's it. Everyone else on that roster should already know what their role is: their jobs are to make life easier for Cunningham, Ivey, Duren and Thompson. If the players can't do that, then dump them or else the GM is the one who is gonna find himself being dumped.
Does it matter if the GM is able to develop Knox or Wiseman into a competent off the bench big? Or does it matter more that he can develop Cade Cunningham into a star?
