I dont think we should predetermine what we do. We should take what trade market and draft gives us.
First we need to evaluate upcoming draft and know what currency we have in it. You cant know for sure , but some drafts are deep like draft which had Anthony, Maxey, McDaniels.
Second we need to know the market and which players are available. Guys like Quickley and Tyus Jones seems like upgrade but how much do you pay for expiring contracts ? Are they even starters ?
I think our mindset should be bringing some more veterans, but not at all costs. I would want a guy like Derrick White is for Boston.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Favorite place to sit? Buying tickets for the game in DC tomorrow. Is it worth it trying to get closer to the bench?

Orlando has played one of the hardest NBA schedules and landed on a 17-11 record; i.e. exactly on pace for 50 wins. For the remaining 54 games, Orlando has the 2nd easiest schedule (the 29th hardest).

Frankly a 50-win season is looking probable, at this point.

SOS really tricks people into thinking certain things and it doesn't really work like that where it stays as the easiest the entire way the rest of the season - we can play another week of games and suddenly be 16th SOS because it can be a week of all easier teams and suddenly it's not the 2nd easiest schedule anymore. Teams like Memphis also skew it because they aren't bad anymore.. and Pistons, Wizards and Spurs are so bad record wise that they factor into the scale heavily.

Those Dwight teams were 52-59 wins and I don't think we have anywhere near the talent.

The fact that Mo Bamba and RJ Hampton are playing in a Christmas game is breaking my brain.

I hope we won't draft next June, it has to be traded (for 2025 1sts or part of consolidation trade)
Can't be mad at that, me personally I think since it's a good chance we're going to lose goga we could look at some of the center prospects in the draft.....it could work imo, he would be a 3rd stringer so he wouldn't need to worry about minutes and if he does play all we need is just defense and rebounding.... I need to look a bit deeper into the center prospects for 2024

I'm sure it's no surprise to anyone here that I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE A TRADE...and, imo, the 24 frp would add true value to a package without really being detrimental to ORL. We need to get clear of the lottery and we really don't need any more 19 year old lumps of clay that take 3 years to contribute. We can't even get our #11 pick out of the G League and he's very likely the best shooter on the team right now. I don't necessarily want an old guy, but I don't want another baby on this roster.

Same way I look at WCJ...I like him. He's good. But he might be worth more to another team than to ORL. A team that's a step behind us in a rebuild might value the pick a lot more than we could. We're so deep, but not really that great a team (yet)

Hello Mo Bamba career Revenge Game.

There should be absolutely NO revenge game. We gave him 5 years to do whatever he wanted.

It's interesting. Weltman ran it back with the lone addition a 36 year old role player and two lotto talents. He gave Mosley an overloaded back court with 3 expiring contracts in critical roles, partially addressing the ambiguity by extending Cole. Probably put Mosley in about as terrible a position as possible.

The team was trending in the right direction, picking up 12 more wins and playing .500 ball after a 5-20 start. Odds makers thought the team would stagnate. Play-ins were the goal.

Yet, Fultz gets injured, Black gets critical development opportunity, and the team builds on it's .500 play and is already 9 games ahead of last season. It's like everything is breaking in Weltman's favor.

I think when I saw the Ingles signing my first thought was "who dis" but its pretty clear that Ingles is a glue, veteran, overall positive presence for the team. He leads by setting examples, not being selfish, doing what the coach wants to help the team win.

Basically an ideal team player that you want on a squad. If we could convert Fultz + 1 future 1st into another ingles clone but at the guard and get the same level of Emotional / Intelligence quotient from them it would be a significant upgrade to our current log jam even if it doesn't make the splash the trade thread is always contriving for.

At the same ages and experience levels, absolutely.

But Hedo and Rashard were both *really* good from ages 24-29.

Trap question to me really.

Both Franz + Paolo are closer to Hedo then to Lewis. I think we all have forgotten just how good Lewis was at shooting. He would have done much better in this era of physicality. Specifically due to wear and tear of playing PF against people like Kevin Garnet, Rasheed Wallace, Paul Gasol and so on and so forth.

That being said, I think Franz + Paolo + Prime Howard + Prime Nelson + a stick that shoots 3's and holds his hands up on defense at guard would be very fun to watch.
