With Taj here now, I wonder what they will do there as well. Should have signed him sooner.

15-8 since the first six games (2-4) when Randle was struggling.

And the schedule to start out of the gates was absolutely brutal. Both in lack of rest between games and difficulty. This team is doing quite well with all that considered.

It’s hard to imagine anything that makes sense. Keldon Johnson is a bench player for SA now. I think that’s interesting. OG still makes sense. DeRozan might be our target and I like him as a player. I also love Vucevic as a passing big man. Jerami Grant isn’t playing too well but he’s still an incredible fit. These are the apparent choices when looking at seemingly available players.

Maybe some seemingly untouchable players aren’t really untouchable:

I wonder if Sacramento would trade Keegan Murray - quick answer is no, but what would it take?

Would Minnesota really turn down Randle and IQ for KAT? They would look good with that lineup given that KAT and Gobert are a slow tandem.

But that’s already all I could think of… there are teams that could use our players, but for streaky shooters nobody is going to pay a fortune.

I think a lot depends on what they plan to do with IQ. I think they are open to a trade. It's hard to imagine them not wanting to pay him, brining in DDV, now we here Murray smoke. Even without the Murray talk I still think they are open to a trade. I would keep IQ myself and there's a chance we may still. I just think the obvious answer is he's gonna be in a trade. For who IDK but, there's a deadline coming soon enough.

Maybe they feel IQ is maxed out and/or not a great fit for the current roster. Murray is a more dynamic scorer, taller player so fits better as a SG next to the shorter Brunson and lastly can play point better than IQ.

I love IQ but for this roster and overall team dynamic, Murray is the better fit.

Nice. We have a decent team. Firing on all cylinders I think we're one of the toughest teams in the league. We still have holes and without Mitch...a bit of an identity crisis that needs to be sorted out. I am enjoying the show so far. Brunson is the greatest Knick since EWING!! I'm here for it.

So maybe we should sit tight as opposed to making any desperate moves. Sims is coming back soon. We still have time before the trade deadline. Maybe we make a trade for Mo Bamba though, given Embiid's propensity to get hurt and miss games, I don't know why the Sixers would help us out.

I'm not sure Murray is the better fit though. If he plays the exact role as IQ...maybe. I would rather keep IQ or get a better player in any trade. Murray isn't that much better than IQ. Especially if they want picks in this trade. It seems fairly lateral to me.

It makes sense if they want Murray that IQ is gone though. So...we shall see.

Also, one of trademarks of Thibs's teams here is that he usually has them playing their best basketball at the end of the season. I don't know that it gets us past the top 3 in the East but maybe we could knock off Philly.

Murray seems to be as a better fit next to Brunson. And he is under a very reasonable contract over the next 4 years. I think it would be worth it.

Trade RJ +other assets in a secondary trade and bring in a dynamic, higher efficiency, better defending 3/back up 4. Easier said than done but its why I want Markenen. He can play 3, 4 or 5 and hit like 40% from 3. Kind of a Wing version of Kristaps Porzingis.

Murray needs the ball according most. It's not working in ATL with Trae. Why would it work here? I think the thirst for a trade is making people see greener grass. RJ for Markanen? I don't see it. Ainge is not doing is any favors. We've been over this.

Assuming that we are not trading the Villanovians, and assuming that McBride doesn't have a trade market (and Grimes trade value has diminished), IQ is certainly going to be traded. His value is clear and apparent. He is a bucket. He also defends as well as any guard his size. He is a worker, high character, and reliable. All this is exactly why we need to trade him now while he has the value.

Toronto might not want to deal with us... that's fine. But indirectly we can give ATL IQ (to be a Murray replacement) and Grimes, Fournier's salary, maybe a pick and come away with Hunter. they can move Murray for OG and they could really sure up their defense by having a starting 5 of Trae (sucks) IQ Grimes OG Capella(or OO)
start to look a lot like D'Antoni Suns (Nash, Barbosa, Q-Rich, Marion, C)

To make the anti RJ club happy

RJ for DLo Rui. Start Hart and make Grimes the back up 3. Get a backup PF. Maybe flip DLo or if not see if he fits in off the bench.

Brunson DLo
IQ DDV
Hart Grimes
Randle Rui
Hartenstein

to close out the season

oh not you too...

I’m not for it

My thoughts exactly. Overall, that’s barely an upgrade and certainly not character-wise. I mean, is better, but look at Atlanta. They’re very inconsistent, mostly coming up short and I feel that kinda mirrors Murray’s influence on the team. He’d be a very nice role-player (which IQ it’s too and, yes, IQ has maxed out imo). In order to compete, you’d want to be great at all positions so you need great role-players. However, we’re just not there yet and Murray is not taking that step for this team. He’s basically what Derrick White has turned into - without the intelligence. Big difference.

We should go and get OG and Murray instead. Maybe there is some three-way deal where RJ and IQ land in Toronto and Atlanta still get enough value back for Murray. Toronto need a PG though. They might as well trade OG for Murray without getting any of the Knicks‘ trash.

With Toronto literally benching Schroeder, we should step in and help them out. IQ could be their new starting PG.

RJ is utter garbage. Trade his crappy inefficient ass for OG, one or both of WAS or DET FRPs and include dropping the lawsuit as a sweetener. Even if we lose OG in the offseason, at least we will have RJ off our books.

I would take OG for RJ in a split second.

Thibs handling of Quickley is absolutely maddening. Quickley was our hottest player , he should have NEVER been subbed out for RJ. Game was over the moment Thibs made that absolutely braindead move.

IQ and RJ for OG and Boucher works in the trade machine. Gives us a starting SF and another big man and actual stretch big at that , raptors get a starting PG and hometown albatross deal. We can play McBride at backup PG until Rokas comes. Just need Dolan to drop the lawsuit and beg Masai for forgiveness. Maybe he can give him some free vip passes to jd and the straight shot shows and a beej

Bad trade. IQ is better than OG and RJ is better than Boucher.

I'd rather do Mitch + RJ + IQ + picks for 2 years of KD (and possibly more if he extends).

Go all in with KD + Brunson + Randle... 2-3 years of contention and maybe you get one. All we need is one...
