Re: Dak: 4 years, $160m
For example when Dak signed this contract in 2021, the salary cap was $182m. Next season is expected to be $240m which is $60m difference. Daks entire salary fits into that growth.
Likewise with this, we can backload Daks contract knowing the cap will grow another $60m-$80m over the next 4 years

Personal finances are not comparable though because real life has no salary cap.
House has more or less same monthly payments, it is not back loaded, in fact you want to pay any debt early rather than "back load" it to pay less interest.
Same thing in football, the more backload it the less flexibility you have. Deals generally become backloaded thru more guarantees, guarantees are the interest of football.
Lol, it's not comparable because there is no building interest in the NFL, and it's better to back load in the NFL because in the future you can assume the cap will be higher allowing for more room
You know salary cap increases for everyone not just you

Probably the main reason why Saints couldnt win another Super Bowl and treaded water so many years with Drew Brees.

Ideally you would want to pay the bulk of the guaranteed money within the first two years of the contract (on a 5 year contract). That way if the player underperforms they don’t have huge guarantees in year 3, 4, and 5 of the deal. You would be able to cut the guy with no cap hit because the guaranteed money has already been paid.
Most GM’s don’t work that way though. They pay it on the back end like you said. That’s why a team ends up paying dead money for a player no longer on the team. Like Romo in 2017.

Again I think you expect Dak throw to himself and play defense as well, there are 52 more players you need to pay. Micah and Lamb was making 3 mil each in 2021, what about those linebackers you need? Maybe you want to improve your running game? Where are you fitting those?
you reminded me this

Okay well explain your views to NFL front offices El Turco, and then tell them that you hope they don't do their own finances that way and show them your YouTube vids.
I'm not the one who does it, I'm just telling you how it's going to be. Dak is going to be resigned and the contract will be backloaded. EXACTLY like his current contract.
Assuming we lose 2nd round or earlier, I think McCarthy will be gone and a new system will be brought in.

Relax, I am just saying you have a dumb way of looking at things. As I said I am happy with the way Cowboys is run, but to their credit unlike fans management has to worry about things other than the product on the field.

Okay sure. You should also relax though, because I'm just saying you have a much dumber way of looking at things where you compare NFL cap management to real world bank loans.

Now, do you finally understand what we've had to deal with the past 2 years in the Cowboy forum. So lets extend Dak so Micah can complain and try to convince us all its everyone's fault but Dak's. We might be able to win 1. Look at Stafford. He'll be the first one to blame the RB's, O-line and defense because the Cowboys won't be able to improve the other needed areas, cause in his mind we can't do better than Dak. He wants best for Dak instead of the team. What a great Cowboy fan. Just make the playoffs and get a participation certificate. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!

You gotta appreciate the effort, he sure likes to hang on to the idea of having Dak with his dear life even if none of his arguments stick

After you and Jack accused me the other day what I would do now that my Cowboys and Chiefs were done for the season, I thought I would give it a try so that everyone would pick on me instead of Micah. Thought it would be a good idea to take some heat off him and boost the realgm ratings and postings. Plus guess who is playing the cowboys this week on Jimmy Johnson night? Watch Dak screw up the whole night.

Plus if it means getting McCarthy and Dak out of here sooner, I'm all for it. Go LIONS !!!!!!!!!!! I want what's best for the team, not Dak.
I understand wanting to move on from Dak but cheering against him is just wrong.

Pretty sure you googled analogy and got all excited without reading into it, kinda expected it

if I say Dak is not as good Brock Purdy in football, this is a direct comparison.
if I say Dak beating a good team on the road is as unlikely as Floyd Mayweather completing a Shakespeare book, this is an analogy.
You can make an analogy between any two things as long as you find a shared characteristic, including NFL salary cap and personal finance, NFL salary cap and unicorns, NFL salary cap and your morning poop, just use your imagination.

What's wrong is repeating the same mistakes and expecting a different result. We have an 8 year sample now.
Nothing wrong with wanting to get rid of him and starting fresh.
But it’s wrong to not cheer for him this year.

That is the difference between the old guard Cowboy fans and the new generation cowboy fans. Its Super bowl or bust for us. You and Micah are just happy making the playoffs, getting an early boot and getting a participation trophy or something. Gets old after 28 years with no improvement and not being able to jump over the last hurdle into elite territory.

An analogy is a comparison of two different scenarios.
You said something dumb, just acknowledge it and move on. Don't double down.

what do you think is the purpose of analogy?

You’re missing the point. I have no issue with you wanting to get rid of Dak. Read that again.
But seeing as he’s here this year we should be cheering for him. Cheering against him now is just wrong.
