When Barnes was a rookie and just got done destroying Sabonis twice in the span of a week I said he had future MVP type potential and folks laughed at me. Well here we are.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

Really may not matter if this team lays a egg against Celtics, beating the Generals is not changing anything. They suck

Darko might not be the quickest, but he learns. The starting unit looked good.

This is closer to the version we need to see. Still a way to go though.

Was travelling most of the day (back in Toronto, I'll take this rain and fog over snow any day), so imagine my surprise when I saw the starting lineup. And then Flynn didn't get any real minutes. Took long enough FFS.

Barnes is a stud. Like others have said, it wasn't even THAT good of a statline for him anymore.....that's where we are. Next step is to perfect drawing phantom fouls like the superstars do.

This is exactly why most of us wanted Gary to start. It gave the starting lineup shooting where Barnes/Siakam can handle the ball more while letting Schroder go wild with the 2nd unit and also kicking Flynn to the moon.

Just that simple change while reducing Precious's role increased the overall IQ of the team by a million lol.

Forget reducing achiuwa role, just bench him permanently. And then I’ll be happy.

I feel like Thad could be a minor role bench 5 still. Just garbage time so far this year but he’s always one of the smartest dudes out there.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Our three best players got 20+, that's a good sign.

- Schroder running the 2nd unit to replace Flynn was common sense from the start.
- Porter needs to play every game he's available.
- McDaniels and Precious can flip flop as the 9th man

We have struggled even against crappy teams all year so it was great to see them FINALLY take care of business.

Do not be tricked by one game against the Wizards. Porter Jr. is washed. McDainels sucks. If they commit to Barnes at PG that will be fun and get Flynn out of the way. There is no reason to think that anything that happened in this game would translate unless they play the Pistons and Spurs the rest of the year.

We’re 3-8 in December without any major injuries. We beat a hapless and hopeless Wizards team. This starting lineup should win the games they’re supposed to win, but Boston will show us the difference between a top tier team and ours.

We also beat a Charlotte team missing 4 starters and were healthy

That pass to Dick reminded me how Thad and Boucher had some good chemistry as Thad would always see a cutting Boucher for some easy dunks.

Scottie was fantastic. Darko deserves props also for making (albeit obvious) a change in the lineup. I know everyone is angry at the front office, as am I, over the decisions made over the last few years but I think losing Masai will be more detrimental long term. He brought us an all-nba type player in Scottie and not to mention the obvious championship. I think he deserves to leave on his own terms whenever that is

Ya it's annoyed me how selfish/low IQ'd of a team we've been and yet we've been benching Porter and to an extent Young for Precious/Flynn/McDaniels. There is no way that Porter/Young can be worse than those guys.

You’re gonna base this lineups success on whether or not they can beat the best team in the league?

Regardless of whether they beat the Celtics, this should be the lineup going forward. Doesn’t matter.

I feel like Thad, Otto and even Temple could be good in short spurts. They're just too old to play heavy minutes, except maybe Otto. But basketball rarely works that way, a smart vet contributing for just a few minutes a night
