Brunson is more than a good solid PG. He has shown that he can take over games like any other all-star caliber player - because he is one.

BTW, are you really comparing Brunson to Derek Fisher?

Lol he has to be trolling. Don't take the bait

Okay, this take aged like spoiled milk. Don't get me wrong, the Pistons still have plentiful of talent, but the fit on the team is a disaster. This doesn't doesn't help that Cade Cunningham himself hasn't taken the next step towards stardom. In fact in some area such as defence, he has actually regressed. While I'm mostly right on the Knicks talent, I was very wrong on Jalen Brunson. I have seen him as just a good starting level player and that's it. Over the last 1 and almost a half, he proven that he is a all star without doubt. Basically a 25-27 point per game scorer in the regular, only better by the fact that it also translates to the big games during the playoffs as well. Things can still change overtime, but just by default being that the Pistons are complete disaster right now and on pace to have one of the worst records in NBA history, the Knicks are for have a big edge in terms the near future and also the distant future.

I did think the knicks were better when I posted in this thread, but in fairness nobody thought Brunson was gonna be THIS good. He is a baller

I mean some of us at the start of this thread definitely argued he could be a star and have a really transformative impact on this team because of how much he'd help Randle; especially by taking over in crunch time

But you're right that a lot of people doubted it and there's nothing wrong with be wrong, we all do it. All we can do is own it when we're wrong and learn from those mistakes.

Alright I’ll admit I’m wrong here. It’s really hard to get stuck to a guy who destroys his teams pretty often and bounces.

The Knicks are having a very good season, but I don't get the narrative that they are primed for a deep playoff run.

The Knicks have been near perfect against teams with losing records but pretty bad against teams at .500 or better.

Against teams .500 or better they have won 18 of 44 games. Against teams currently in the top six seeds in the East they have won 5 of 18 games. They have losing records against Boston, Milwaukee, Orlando and Indiana.

In spite of their recent success, their season long struggles against winning teams would point to a disappointing post season with their ceiling being a first round series win.

To be fair, the only reason why you brought up kyrie was because the guy compared Brunson to derek fisher which is an even worse take than yours.

It's predicated on us getting healthy; with our Mid 3 (OG, Brunson, & Randle) we were beating good teams like the Wolves, Nuggets, and Sixers w/ Embiid...absolutely wrecking Denver & Philly in those games.

But since we didn't trade for Anunoby until the new year, and he's been banged up...during which time Randle has been out as well*...we've had a healthy OG for less than 20 games so far. So our overall record against the top/good teams doesn't reflect the threat we could pose if we get healthy over these next few weeks like we're supposed to.

A lot of IFs...especially with Randle's return drawing out & OG reinjuring himself just a couple games after coming back...but if we get our starting front court back, then we could make some real noise. Plus this is just a better team than the one a year ago that challenged Miami harder than Boston or Milwaukee did after pushing the Cavs around.

*people may meme Randle, but he was playing incredible basketball after remembering he can get to the rim at will and having him on the court is huge for Brunson...even last spring when Randle was playing through an ankle that needed surgery, Brunson's efficiency in the playoffs was night & day w/ & w/o Julius.
