The same thing happened with Kyle.

But it is nice to see how wrong some people were last year. We even had people thinking we were going to be better because we swapped Fred for Schroder. We are not a good team and that’s due in large part to having Schroder instead of Fred. Look at the difference Fred has made in Houston. That team nearly has as many wins as they had all of last season.

We were under the assumption that the coach was not going to give Schröder more usage than his talent. Fred, on this team, would have been another season of the Fred show and would not be any more entertaining even if a few more wins came our way.

Context matters. Every single thread, post and topic was infiltrated by fred hate. He was labelled an awful player and an awful person. Called greedy. Called a midget. Blah blah blah... The point is he is a valuable player and houston is better because of him. All the slander he got on here was proven wrong. And as someone who knew it would he proven wrong the mass silence when it comes to him is no surprise

Yeah I am actually shocked at how quiet it’s gotten
about him. To be fair, I didn’t think Houston would be above .500 at this point of the year nor did I think they’d be better than us. But I did think they’d compete a lot harder and be in a lot more games as a result. They look pretty good. Jalen Green needs to figure it out though because he’s letting them down big time. Wouldn’t be surprised if they made a move at the deadline.

There is silence because we don't care. Those of us who wanted him gone are not surprised he is doing better somewhere else. This is not a contract year for him, it is not a prove myself year for him.

We were tired of PG centric play, and that's why there is criticism of Dennis and Darko. We simply do not want to watch that kind of basketball.

Fred had only 10 last night in a loss to PHX, in 29 minutes
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Was Fred in a contract year from 2020-2023? Because his usage and FGA are nearly identical. I hate to break it to you but GM’s and coaches watch basketball. If Fred did what you think he did then championship caliber coaches wouldn’t want him on their team and they most certainly wouldn’t play him nearly 40 minutes a night.

We are 12-18. I think we can all agree that Nurse did what he needed to do to win games. Our offense AND defense are both worse than last year.

Okay, but why bicker over him? I agree, it's the thread. But the usual suspects are still going back and forth.

I'm not on a fred side. I have no interest in debating with either side. I do think it was time to move on though.

But we're conveniently ignoring the roster Houston put out last year. KP at pg. No Brooks. There young guys with a year less experience. Silas as a coach. Of course they're going to look better this year. It's not just because of Fred.

Let’s call it what it is. This whole thing has been downhill since we lost Patrick McCaw

I agree it was time to move on, especially after realizing it was going to take a max contract to keep him.

This is partially correct but probably underselling Fred's role in their turnaround. For example, when Fred is on the court this year Houston is playing like the 7th best team in the league, but when Fred is off the court all of a sudden they play like the 7th worst team in the league. No one else on Houston's roster is having that type of plus/minus impact outside of Tari Eason who's a bench player averaging 21 mpg.

Knicks fans will be happy with OG I think, his game really fits in seamlessly with any team.
