Pistons are 17 point underdogs at the moment... I feel like if Boston sits a few guys we could/should cover that spread.

White, Jrue, and Zingis is still a core that crushes us easily.

Stewart is out.

Preliminary starting line-up appears to be one folks have been calling for.

Duren
Thompson
Bojan
Ivey
Cade

With the history Detroit and Boston has no way they win this game, Boston won’t want that

I love how we only get a lineup we want when they CAN’T give us what we don’t want.

Now please don't just camp Ausar in the corner the whole time

Over/under on how many 3-point shots Ausar ends up with, due to Montys scheme?

As a reminder, he is a .161% three-point shooter.

Personally, I think he needs to keep shooting them because he MUST become a 30%+ shooter to have a future in the NBA. He shot that from the NBA line in OTE and then shot 38% on pretty high volume in the playoffs, so there really is no excuse for him to be as bad as he has been. I think he needs a game where he sees 2-3 go down, and he'll start to feel more confident in the shot again. I'd rather he do that now than when the team has a chance to be good. The only thing worse than a guy who is a bad 3 point shooter is a guy who literally is scared to shoot at all (Ben Simmons).

The main issue is that it can't be the only thing he does on offense. He needs to be the roll man in P&R's and they need to run plays to get him lobs, etc.

If you are a Piston, how do you mentally prepare for this game? You have just set the record. You have been living with infamy for a few days and now face a vastly superior opponent. You know you have no chance. What do you do?

And hopefully Monty does Bagley 12 Knox 24 and Killa Hayes(or Sasser)24. Run an 8man rotation. Or if he does 10 man have Livers or Burks and Sasser

normally i'd agree with you but he's struggled so much from 3 that it could tank his confidence too, on top of making it hard for us to run an offense. he's made 9 3s this season and i'm pretty sure he has more airballs than that.

i do agree that he should at least be involved in actions as a screener where he's more of a threat.

anyways...

I think the airballs were the sign that the confidence has already bottomed out. Nowhere to go but up! Definitely not getting your confidence back in the shot by being too scared to shoot at all.

Just have the kid play to his strengths offensively and let him be that disruptor defender we know he can be.
Let Ivey him and Duren use their athleticism and get out and run and defend like maniacs.
Let Cade and Bojan take turns trying to be Luka lol and set guys up while scoring 40 each
Ivey needs to get his 20.
Bagley needs to play over Wiseman and give us his 12pts in 12 minutes.
Sasser needs to just focus on scoring
Killa needs to focus on defense and setting people up
Knox needs to take 5 3pt shots and hit 4 of them :P

Ausar must learn to shoot or he’ll never be a starter in this league. Full stop.

Gotta at least be in the 34 percent range.

Herb Jones great D, athletic, top 10 defender in the league starts and averages 10.6 PPG shooting 33% from deep on his career (a bit lower this season).

If we could get that from Ausar I'd be fine... a better rebounding Herb Jones would be solid for us. He's just got to be elite defensively and make about 1 of every 3 open corner threes and he'll be a solid positive impact starter for us.

And that’s on the bubble for a starter in this league. So is 34. It’s not a big difference.

It represents the minimum- it’s around there somewhere. But if you’ve got a wing shooting half that the solution isn’t to just let him play to his strengths. It’s REPS REPS REPS. In game and out.
