Quickley's Rising Star: Projecting Performance and Pay

Post#1 » by AceKobe » Sat Dec 30, 2023 8:13 pm

Immanuel Quickley's 2022/2023 game logs showcase a player on the rise, blending scoring, playmaking, and defense. As we ponder his future, it's reasonable to expect continued improvement in his numbers. The question then becomes: What will this mean for his paycheck?

With Quickley's dynamic skills, it's plausible that his scoring averages and impact on the court will only increase. As a result, a significant salary bump or a lucrative extension could be on the horizon. Teams are always eager to invest in emerging talents, and Quickley's potential makes him a prime candidate.

Ultimately, as we speculate on Immanuel Quickley's future, it's essential to keep an eye on his development and how he continues to impact the game. His journey is one worth following, and the anticipation surrounding his next contract adds an extra layer of excitement to his promising career.

if he starts rest of season and really pops we might see his number rise to $30ish

Can't wait to see IQ in a raps uni. Very happy about this. He'll get paid but so what. We need a guy exactly like this to start with Scottie.

He's an RFA and we'll match any offer.

I’d rather pay IQ $30 million than pay OG whatever he ends up getting

He’s an RFA. Only way he’s not a Raptor next year is if we decide to move on from him which isn’t likely

You're kind of hoping he gets the Austin Reaves treatment where teams don't bother offering a big deal and tying up money that they expect to get matched.

He won’t get any offers because we’ll sign him before another team is allowed to make him an offer. I believe the rule is other teams need to wait 12 days after free agency has started to make an offer. In practice it rarely comes to this and even if it does, teams are unlikely to succeed since the offer will be matched. Last time this happened was last summer with Ayton and the Suns.

5 year 205 is the max he can sign for, 25% of the cap. 260ish if he makes all nba (not happening)
those are the lamelo ball, halliburton, anthony edwards extensions they signed.

but expect a number closer to devin vessel/jaden mcdaniels, 5 year 125-130

thanks. I guess it all depends on the rest of the season, if he suddenly averages 25/5/5 he could get 40 per.

No matter what he costs think of it as giving him that amount minus Precious and Malachi's salary. Barret's money was going to go to OG on top of what he makes now. We can't lose in this deal. We get a pick for gravy. NY isn't getting any upside in this deal. They've given up depth which they can afford to do because they have multiple first rounders this year. OG is nice, but not consistent and prone to being completely invisible some games. They paid for a 3 & D specialist who won't dominate the ball. This will only age well for us who were in need of a PG to pair with Scottie.
