i think official trade is better since we didn't give up any 1st round picks. we're trying to use our 1st round picks for a star

Yeah, I definitely think the official one is better for y'all as well. The difference between Poeltl and Hartenstein is marginal and definitely not worth giving up a 1st round pick.

good deal for both sides. i think iq is the big piece for you guys.

Still shocked that the Knicks and Raps made a deal happen considering the on-going lawsuit.

With that being said, I'm super excited to watch IQ and tbh, Barrett just as much. I think a change of scenery and being back home will help maximize RJ's potential. He always brought his best whenever he played for Team Canada, so hopefully it carries over to the Raps.

As for OG, he's another guy who I believe will greatly benefit from a change of scenery. His defensive numbers may be down this season but don't be fooled, he's still one of the game's best perimeter defender and one of the few guys that can guard 1-5.
Offensively, he's just a 3pt shooter. That's all. I was never as high on OG as other Raptors fans but even I can admit that he's exactly the type of player every contending team needs.

(One thing that y'all better get used to is him running over his defenders. Guys built like a truck and doesn't realize it to this day. :lol:

The more I think about this and how Thibs talk about length with OG. We all questioned why Thibs put in RJ over IQ last night and he talked about RJ length.

OG could be next to Brunson and Grant as the 3. Grant is 6'7 and he can guard 2-5 and OG can guard 1-5. This is a positionless era where we now have a lot length if we can get a guy like Grant.

I think the team is built for just 2 starting forwards (now OG and Randle) and one guy spelling them for 10-15 min max (Thibs). So Hart for the smaller of the two and now Precious for Randle's caddy. Not enough minutes for Grant, even if we could get him.

Seems odd we didn't give up much draft compensation in the OG trade. What if... there is a 3 team deal with the Hawks AND the Raptors in the works. Like right now. :-o

NY lands Dejounte. Hawks get Sikam. Raptors receive a boat load of assets, etc.

Grant is a guy I always wanted for this team. Playing without a SG seems weird, but it’s a cool look.

Brunson, OG, Grant, Randle, Mitch

Brunson, Murray, OG, Randle, Mitch has a more natural feel to it, but may really be the worse team.

A ferocious defender and shooter at the 2 would obviously be nice. Who else could it be?

Next up is Fournier, Grimes and 2 picks for Murray and small filler, in a more expensive version of the Knox Reddish trade, where Knicks get a player they will flip in a year or two and who may or may not work out in the interim.

I thought they will do this before Cohen on KFS said it and he came up with the same thing. Hence the "Knicks not done" , besides the obvious need to upgrade SG in the future and on, Murray isn't the long term answer

Wonder what it would take to get both Capela and Murray. I could see us competing for the chip if we don't have to give up too much.
