this guy needs 5 yrs of HC experience to get better

but looks like they just hired him to develop guys , masai knew they werent winning anything this year or next

if he develops IQ, Gradey, RJ and of course elevate Scottie, he did his job

The team plays with no effort or cohesion. That's on the coach. I thought NN set the bar pretty low last season but Darko is a reminder that we weren't anywhere close to rock bottom.

He hasn’t been great, but most of us weren’t great in the first three months of a new job. It takes time.

But he will never be Nick Nurse. That guy sees the game in a different way but maybe Darko can grow into a decent coach. Let’s see what happens with a little more roster balance.

Also, he’s coaching Scottie to the MIP award this year. I’ll also give him points for adapting to the team so Pascal could get his. But It isn’t adding to the win column.

I don’t mind that he took 1/3 of the season to bench DS. We don’t really have a ton of depth so I can understand the logic of keeping a non-passing, streaky shooter in GTJ off the bench.

MLSE is not gonna fire a guy they just hired, this is a developmental year and they are tinkering on re tooling and not rebuilding. It's a wait and see approach yet again, to see if he adjusts with the newly acquired players and learn how to micro manage the game the right way especially the substitutions. If he falters and fail to do his job he will probably let go in the off-season but if there progress and team shows promise he will be retained in another team friendly contract aka on the cheap.

Thad played 10 plus minutes yesterday vs the Pistons while Dick was glued to the bench. I know Dick has been piss poor, but if your coach doesn't have faith in you to even play vs the Pistons, how is he going to improve? This guy is even bad at developing players. The best option is to fire this guy asap, and let Jama run the show for now. But this FO will "evaluate" the situation for like 3 more seasons as usual.

Guy was clearly brought in to develop Scottie. Masai really should have brought in an experienced strategist to help Darko out. Either way, this season was a wash - more of a ‘figure out what to do OG and Pascal’ season.
