Double edged sword a bit... you want him to come in and play great but at the same time he's going to have interest from around the league and several teams have a bunch of money to spend... If Siakam and OG end up staying with their teams Quickley quickly shoots up the list of top FAs. Quickley could honestly become one of the top 2 or 3 FAs that end up actually available depending on what older players end up doing such as DeMar, Tobias, etc.

He's an RFA. We get to match any offer (and we will).

Yea but you could end up overpaying if you have to match.

Teams don't really bother signing players to offer sheets anymore if the expectation is it will be matched. Just look at the deal Austin Reaves ended up having to settle for. Tying up money for several days where the large majority of Free Agency takes place and potentially missing out on another player is a pretty big opportunity cost to be risking.

Re: Official Immanuel Quickley Thread
Gonna be nice watching him learn from Dennis and eventually start 3 years from now
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I know Dick will definitely benefit from this trade. I was thinking a quickley penetration will free up Dick for open shots.
Malachi definetly ain't Immanuel, but there were short spurts where I saw some potential with Malachi and Dick in the backcourt.
Thoughts
I think if you sandwich dick between Schroeder Trent and porter you can make good use of him as they’re all more experienced players.

This is where losing Nick Nurse will hurt most, he would actually get the best out of Barrett and Quickley
Flame away but quickley will be more impactful in the playoffs primarily because he plays defense. Maxey will be exposed when teams start hunting him in a half court setting.

He’s RFA and max he can be offered is 27M (someone correct me if I’m wrong). If he blows up I’m more than happy if he gets that contract.

This is such a narrow way to view the game. There’s always going to be someone who the opposing team picks on.
FVV was a great defender, guess what ? When the playoffs came along, everyone hunted him. Same thing will happen with Quickley. Virtually with any guard that’s under 6’5.
It’s the job of the coach and team to cover for each other’s weaknesses.

Scottie and Immanuel will be running circles around Chokebiid and Maxey in a year or two.
