Not as bad on defense as D Mitch, much better shooter than Dejounte, and has been the 1st option on a team that went to the Finals before. Just a better version of LaVine
Embiid is probably the best player of all the "realistic" options, but if we're going after him or KAT, I don't think Randle fits next to them. In that scenario, you look to trade Randle for another wing, and shift OG down to PF. We probably don't have the assets for this, but if Grimes gets back to form, a lineup of Brunson/Grimes/Mikal/OG/Embiid is like, perfect for modern basketball. Only one bad defender in the group, two all-defensive team wings, shooting from every position, a legit scoring PG, and an MVP level C.
If Booker is moved it’ll be for another star, not a rebuilding situation where they’re looking for an expiring and picks.
With the way Philly is playing I can’t see any way Embiid asks out.
Our most realistic targets are Mikal (who I’m not sure Brooklyn would trade to us), Mitchell and Murray.
Out of the 3, ideally Mikal would be who I’d like to get the most.
Suns, Nets, Lakers, and GSW won't be sellers. Clippers would if they weren't playing so well.
The other sellers mostly have mediocre players on awful deals: Hawks, Bulls, Spurs, Blazers, Raptors, Wizards. Maybe the Pels or Grizzlies, Pels because they're doing OK and Zion isn't really playing that well. Grizz because everyone is hurt, and they are already 10-21 and have their own pick. JJJ is playing like warm ass, but it would probably take matching and 3 firsts to get him.
Trade deadline is February 8th I think. Suns would have to absolutely crater. Or KD would need to blow his knee out. Booker could then call his agent Leon Rose and ask out. I'd be in favor of that, he's a top 10 player in the league and probably the 2nd or 3rd best SG. 3 Knicks 1sts, Dallas 1st, the fake 1sts, Fournier's cold clammy French body and Grimes.
