At some point, yes, but I also heard that they were 100% re-signing Fultz and other things that haven't happened yet. I think they show predictability in some areas and unpredictability in others. I just think that it's easier to swallow for fans to let things play out when the team is bad - Spurs are doing this right now too, but once the team is good, you actually have to start to address specific needs. We're about at that point but everything before this makes decent sense to me.

They gambled on internal improvement, which I argued for all offseason, and it's hard to argue that it has been beneficial to the team and the city as a whole, even though we have obvious, glaring weaknesses. This doesn't always work (Bamba), but when you have someone like Suggs, outside of tonight, be that impactful.. it's hard to argue against it.

This trade deadline and offseason will be their most important because we've seen proof of a team at least ready for the play-ins for a season and a half now, but obviously that also doesn't mean they have to freak out and do everything to max out how good we can be this year.. but they have to remain steadfast and active in the trade market to replace guys who aren't adding much out there.

It is hard watching this game and seeing how many open shots they missed and say 3 point didn't play a role. They missed a ton.

Of course it played a role but the turnovers were the main reason why we lost.

Question, do you think the opposite defense sees that happen three times in a row and doesn't adjust to it at all?

I agree, I just didn't understand why Dell and Cole were pulled at that moment

I think Dell should've stayed in unless he was tired. It's frustrating we never know about minutes restrictions or anything with injured guys, but yeah, if he was good to go he should've stayed in.

I think Cole is a complete hypothetical, and I love Cole, but we know that ONE play of Cole getting targeted on defense and them scoring will have fans freaking out that "why isn't X guy out here" too. It's sometimes a lose-lose game. Maybe Cole doesn't have those wide open shots the other guys have.

It's hard for me to say that the shots they got were bad. Harris in particular has always been a great shooter and is getting open shots.. not sure what else people want in for him or Houstan if they're bricking open shots.

I agree TOs were a problem but simply making our open shots could have covered our turnover issues.

But there could be multiple issues.

Since Hammond stepped down I'm hoping that Parker is a bit more aggressive when it comes to improving the team.... Me personally whatever it takes to get the right guys around paolo and Franz I'm with it.... Guy like kispert could help, it's either that or Orlando is just a place where shooters die

What? They have to fix it by getting better with experience and age. Y'all kill me sometimes.. this team is not on the doorstep where they just make one move and contend. This is organic growth you're dealing with. Like a piece of fruit getting ripe.. it looks nice and shiny when it's on the vine but you know it won't taste its best.
This is exactly right. We can re-tool around Paolo and Franz but we lean on development to level up.

I dont know rest of the starters but Franz and Paolo will lead Orlando Magic to championship one day.
Its amazing how they scored despite having very little space.
WCJ is very talented but his lack of focus and stone hands are really troubling. He also missed some easy rotations imo. Goga has similar problems, but at least he doesnt sulk. Overall WCJ is better player.
I love Jalen but he gives very little in half court sets even when he shoots at his season average. I dont think its very controversial take that we will choose between Suggs and Black as a starter. So far i give the edge to Black becouse he looks more composed but maybe Suggs has another level in him.
We dont have to panic as we can see the spacing issues are " by design". Maybe we are waiting for Jett or we are gathering data to analyze what type of upgrade we really need. Can we downgrade on size and defense to get Jones ? Not likely seeing how much teams abuse Cole bit who knows.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Nice to see a good player putting respect on Paolo and our young squad, but I do remember him saying similar positive things about Mo Harkless lol

Suggs- 28 minutes 1-10 FG/1-7 3P
Black- 21 minutes 1-3 FG/0-1 3P
Harris- 32 minutes 2-7 FG/1-6 3P
Houstan-7 minutes 0-0 FG/0-0 3P AND ZERO EVERYTHING ELSE

To have these many minutes with this kind of offensive production? Cole was one of the few bright spots, but only played 18 minutes....this is nasty work man

Fruit rots pretty quick too if you leave it out and don’t do anything with it

Absolutely agree…just guy(s) that can convert the kick outs from the immense gravity. A guy like Simons would be a ++ because he could also create his own offense inside and out. He’d be the leading scorer on quite a few nights…but, I don’t feel like he’d be THE man or take the ball out of P&F’s hands…Simons would be third option, unless Franz defers too much and/or Simons is even better than I think. Simon’s’ BIG scoring numbers are definitely inflated in his situation…he’d be a great fit, not a conflict, imo.

I was more annoyed with the turnovers than the poor shooting. It's not so much the number than the fact that so many of them were basically unforced ones - wayward passes when the ballhandler was under no pressure and wasn't trying to get his teammate a layup or anything like this. You can't have that when you are already a subpar offensive team due to lack of shooting.

At least WCJr. looked good, hopefully he is fully healed by now and we can expect more performances like this one from now on.

I still prefer Goga starting. Goga gave us 3 offensive rebounds for 6 points in the first half.

It's interesting how much Mosley leans on Harris. He's played more than 30+ minutes in 3 of the last 5 games.

Return to Orlando Magic
