we weren't blessed with a Barnes/Maxey combo but IQ is probably the next best thing.....hopefully this is the basketball gods giving us some light after a depressing & disappointing season.

Realistically we are unlikely to make the playoffs. Goal is development.

Quickley will lead us there

I’m very optimistic that they will make it the playoffs but most importantly the future is just better with this team.

I’m also happy about the trade and more optimistic now. But we’re 3 games back of the playoffs and will lose more ground in the next 2 weeks due to our west coast trip. Plus it seems like we’re gonna trade Pascal.

What do you think happens with Pascal?

It all depends on the next 6 weeks but I believe he re-signs here and they will trade him for a superstar in a year or so.

Removing another creator from this team makes no sense especially since Scottie isn’t quite a good isolation scorer yet. You can now surround Scottie and pascal with 3 good shooters and that’s really difficult to guard.

I know people are worried about the defense but OG doesn’t truly change your team defense that much since he’s a wing. We have to hope that jak gets back to protecting the rim like a few years ago.

There is a lot of parity in the league right now and 3 games isn’t much to make up. They finally have 8 rotation guys they can play now and that changes everything.

I’m just over the moon with this trade.

We’re 2 games back from a play in spot and 6 games back from the 6 seed with 50 games to go. Easily could be in the playoff picture if this trade causes us to start winning some more

It would mean IQ is the guy we’re hoping for and I’m honestly kinda itching to see this version of Scottie in a playoff series. I just wanted to be back in this draft and now we are so I don’t care too much about conveying a non lotto pick if we were to start winning. If we can make the right pick (hopefully) we can still get a stud in the start of the 2nd round.

Still think we make at least one more deal before the deadline (between Pascal, Jakob, and/or or Gary) and hopefully it’s for a similar package with young players who can contribute and fit the Scottie + IQ timeline

Here’s to starting off 2024 with a W

Yeah I agree. I think the main priority should be to lock him up and then look to move him next year. I think Scottie and Pascal will benefit a lot from IQ and although I'm not a huge fan of RJ, he's much better than what we had before. We have a pretty good top 7 right now.

Think about all the 2 man options quickley can get into with this team. Pascal, Scottie and jak should all become more efficient with the amount space they will have.

Think about how well Fred was playing in 2021 before his knee injury and the spacing on the team when he was bombing from the logo. IQ will get to that level and his screen navigation just helps jak on defense now.

I can finally enjoy watching the raptors for the first time since the beginning of last season.

Mobley and Garland are both out. Let's start the new year right so we can forget about that horrible loss!

If Garland and Mobley are both out, we will win no doubt.

Fake win though, but what do I know?

Cavs have been on a run since they've both been out so I wouldn't get too confident about that lol

What system? It's a situation where our existing guys will have to learn to play with talent.

Our offensive system? Our defensive rotations? Aka things 99% of this board have no clue about when watching basketball.

Must be the case with our announcers then, because many would know of that by now if it was recognizable and spoken about. The system is to pray that someone is going to receive a divine revelation about what to do when they have to act.

Damn the East sucks. Detroit probably has a shot at the play in still

I don't foresee RJ starting for us this season unless his 3pt shot improves considerably. With Siakam/Poeltl you need at least 3 above-average shooters beside them so it's IQ/GTJ/Scottie likely in the long-run this season.

Don't know if I'm overrating IQ but he was already Maxey lite (pre breakout Maxey) in the mins with the Knicks past couples seasons.

Our best starting lineup is probably the following but I doubt we bring Barrett off the bench.

Quickley/ Schroder
Trent/
Barnes/ Barrett
Siakam/ Porter
Poeltl/ Boucher
