Also the best thing about him is that hes humble but very selfless person on and off the court.

Rap fans are gonna love IQ. Great work ethic as well. He lives and bleeds basketball

This team needs an injection of youth personality. I feel most of our guys are very bland which is surprising on a sports team.

Hey everybody---wishing you the best with IQ. He is a really good player, can score from anywhere and defends well. He had a stretch last season where he started for us and delivered big time...something along the lines of 20points/5rebounds/5assists on 45/40/85% type numbers. I think you'll really appreciate him. Good guy, very good basketball player.

Ha! I looked up the numbers....they were actually even better than I remembered them:

In 21 games as a starter he put up: 23points/5rebounds/5assists on 47% from the field 40% from 3 and 85% from FT line, playing both ends. I'm actually eager to see how a line-up of

Knicks Movement - Quotes

Mark Lassiter:
"As a Knicks supporter since 1967, this trade just feels wrong. As a heart and soul player who ALWAYS brought maximum effort, IQ was our version of Maxey. He played both ends of the court with joy and energy. His smile was beautiful. His confidence was authentic because it started with his defensive intensity. It’s sad."

Tony Bank:
"Immanuel Quickley. He improves his play every year. This is some BS!"
We all have different opinions, and that is one thing that makes this forum great.

Thanks for all the great feedback on IQ. Truly excited to watch him play and grow with Scottie.

Y'all are def also getting a good one in OG who will be a good fit and help as a 3+D guy alongside Brunson/Randle. One of those trades that benefits both teams.

The one thing i wanted from trading Pascal and OG was our future point guard. I just didn’t know where we could find one and I am elated to get Quickley, I did not think NY would trade him. All the other trade scenarios would not have got us a legit PG. i think we will use the draft to find our future SF 3&D somehow. Hope we luck into someone close to OG’s level, i know its not likely but you never know.

I really believe he's going to end being up better than Garland and closer to Maxey in terms of level of player, such a fantastic steal.

The surprising thing I’ve read about Quickley is that he’s a great defender. We gut a two way player with a ton of upside.

which is why i prefer him over maxey even though maxey is a better shooter. it helps a lot more in the playoffs.

I think it's pretty telling that the FO has chosen not to sit in on the presser, for the introduction of our new players

yup there are a ton of guards around but finding quality ones is very tough in this league and we got one who is 24 to boot.
he's more of a scoring guard than a passing one but i hope he develops good chemistry with poeltl as he can set some good screens for him.

They lack any accountability for the performance of the team. They don’t want to face the tough questions

you prefer a potential all star that's been playing as a 6th man over an actual all star whose stock is at a all time high at the moment?

Let’s pump the brakes on preferring Quickley to a certified all-star. Plus you don’t want to see Quickley’s playoff performances so far. If Quickley never surpasses the level of Jalen Brunson then we won that trade easily.

he is probably a good NBA starter right now and hopefully improves from that in the next 2-3 years.

My preference for quickley goes back a couple of years. Lol I wanted Masai to acquire him for Trent last year when he was in a slump and Knicks fans and media was down on him.
Maxey is a very good shooter but he also gets protected by embiid a lot. The playoffs are a different animal though. Let’s see if they’re able to get out of the second round.

I was in the same boat, though I did have Quickley in mind as a reach scenario as he's been a favourite for a long time and Blake Murphy wrote about him in his speculative trade targets article from Dec 19th. The premise of the piece was focusing on guys who had the potential for breakouts. Turned out pretty prophetic, as IQ was the one he was most excited about except for Trey Murphy, who was even more of a reach:

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/five-players-the-raptors-should-consider-if-they-decide-to-shop-before-the-deadline/

This is an incredible outcome for OG, who the Raps had minimal leverage against. Super excited to see IQ line up next to Scottie.

Kind of waiting for the first game too, before I get even excited. Just need to make sure he starts and sees over 30 mpg. I could see a multiverse where this team makes the same mistake is all.

They've only had one practice so far, so it would be at least somewhat understandable if IQ and Barrett come off the bench this game, and they run with a Schroder, Gary, Pascal, Scottie, Poeltl starting lineup, but IQ better be starting by the next one.
