Very capable of being a PLAY-IN team.... that's as far as I would go...

Right now, the 10th team (Chicago) is 15-19. The 9th, 15-18.

If the Raptors play 500 ball the rest of the way, 37-45, that has a pretty good shot at the play to play. I'm curious how the former Knicks do with your team and I think a play to play spot is within reach.

The question is, do you, as fans, want it? Does Raptor management want it? Will they rest key players a lot of games to get a few extra losses? How hard will the team play. The NBA might have fixed their worst record in the league tanking problem, but that only made the "lets miss the playoffs" tanking problem worse. Last year a bunch of NBA teams tanked the 2nd half, so, I think it's a tough call, but playoffs are within reach. I have no idea what to predict, but playoffs wouldn't surprise me.

RJ is a wildcard. He might just need a new environment.

We don't have our first round pick this year, so making the playoffs makes trading the pick sting less as it won't be in the lottery then. The only way we keep the pick is if we completely bottom out (it's top-6 protected), which would be a challenge this season with so many horrible teams.

The trade is definitley more in favor of win now (team compete) rather than pro-tank as both IQ and RJ are established role/starter players. I think many team-compete people are being confused as being anti-tank which is not the case, our pick this year just has too many implications. Imo its best to get out of the lottery and add to Scotties 2 years of playoff experience, lets see what happens.

I’m calling it now the raptors will make the playoffs though the play in if they keep pascal,

Raptors have a reasonable chance of making the play-in, but they won't be getting a guaranteed playoff berth.

Definitely. They’ll have a chance through the play in with a higher upside for next season.
This season just looked bleak 3 days ago.

Last year 11th finished with 35 wins. Probably be similar this season. Just need to beat that to make play in

The bar for playin in the East is so low, we might accidentally back ourselves in even if Siakam is traded.

I’m just really optimistic about this roster.

Yeah I’m pretty surprised we were able to get this return to be honest. IQ is a perfect fit for this team. We are far more versatile offensively now.

He just unlocks all the pick and roll options in the half court with his combo of shooting off the dribble and off the catch.

This team is flat out better now.

I think Quickley can be as impactful as OG was because what he bring offensively is what this was lacking most, especially in the starting lineup It also brings Schroder to the bench which balances our lineups and allows some Schroder/Poeltl pick and roll as a weapon for our bench heavy lineups. GTJ can stay as shooter off the bench.

Then RJ is a an additional depth piece that is a singificant upgrade over Flynn and Achiuwa and other bench players that would have been getting those minutes. Replacing all of Flynn and Achiuwas minutes with an actual NBA rotation player could make a big difference.

I think play in is guarantee with our new additions, now the goal should be 5th or 6th if we're keeping and extending Siakam for his season.

Return to Toronto Raptors
