If you’ve seen Gradey play in the G League you would understand why he didn’t play lol.

The guy is not ready for NBA minutes (or even G League minutes)

There is absolutely no reason to not start Quickley in place of Schroder tonight as we've been bad this season anyway and now we finally have a young talented guard to pair with Scottie. Why delay the inevitable just to make Schroder feel better about himself for a few days? I sure hope this is Darko just being discreet with the media.

Delaying the inevitable is exactly what it is…..at least 1 of them need to be starting, preferably IQ since the goal is to have him be a core piece with Barnes.

This isnt a playoff team where every win matters because of seeding….its a bottom 6 team that just lost to the pistons.

This....everything has always got to be the sky is falling with posters here.

IQ will get his minutes, but to make him earn the keys isn't the worst approach.

Im not sure I’ve ever disliked a coach in Raptor history as I dislike Dumbko.

I literally have zero faith in this guy, the first word out of his mouth when he was hired I knew this guy was not the right guy, something about him just isn’t right, not head coach material. His staff other then Jama is equally as bad. I can’t help but wonder if the players have the same take on this cat.

I suspect Jama will be our coach next season

This bum may not even play either player tonight, it wouldn’t shock me at all lol

Even Steph Curry has come off the bench after a long layoff due o injuries. Chill. But yeah being out the pitchforks if Quickley isn't starting by game 2 or 3 lol. The worry is this team wins 10 in a row and he never starts, but that's obviously a good thing. lol

I actually think it could work well.

IQ is someone who could rescussitate Jak's trade value if he learns to hit the pocket pass. Starting Dennis and Jak together very clearly does not work well otoh, and so bringing IQ off the bench doesn't make a lot of sense outside of the context of RFA negotiations.

I said this before but unless its something to do with confidence that we're not aware of, Gradey should be getting as much playing time as possible.

This is what I haven't liked about Darko so far. Why are we delaying our rookies development in actual NBA games? let them play thru mistakes and if they still suck for a couple of years or so then trade them. If they think him playing will actually make it worse for him because he isn't NBA ready then we might have more issues considering everyone thought he'd at least be a threat from the perimeter from day 1. Or is it that they don't want to be exposed they made the wrong pick?

starting to think it is an attempt to just sweep Gradey under the rug

Ridiculous amount of politics for a bad team full of role players, this is Raptors culture

Whereas OG starts and was on pace to play 40 minutes before fouling out half way through the 4th quarter for a winning team

Win or loss, I think Masai is going to trade Siakam.

Seeing Masai finally finished evaluating, I'm cheering for the raptors to win now, not to make the play-in, but for some good momentum for new Scottie-Quickley era

Honestly I was chilling with potential Siakam trades but after that quote today I kinda just wanna dump him by the deadline no matter what. I really don't wanna deal with the headache if he leaves this summer.

I missed the quote, what did he say?

I've seen enough of him playing in the NBA. I've seen enough of our garbage squad this year. Might as well let the kid get use to the NBA game this season.

Its not a big deal…but its a little annoyance and they slowly add up over time…Darko is going to end up losing his job. I say this as someone who doesnt like seeing the Darko hate.

Management is clearly hoping IQ takes the next step and is a major core piece going forward. Benching him when he has 0 competition on this roster, for some random scrub that just joined the team a few months ago would be so hilariously wrong.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I have a feeling Darko is going to play Quickley for 15-20 minutes tonight as he would have for Flynn earlier in the season while Schroder plays 30+ yet again.

I'm sure it won't take more than a game or two if that's the case, but it still makes absolutely no sense to just delay the inevitable so as to not ruffle the feathers of a guy who likely won't be here beyond next deadline at the latest. Do we really think Darko wouldn't start someone like Allen if we worked up a deal with the Cavs instead of the Knicks? Poeltl would be coming off the bench from day 1. And it's not like the gap between Allen / Poeltl and Quickley / Schroder is THAT big.

A lot of that has more to do with getting back in rhythm with the team, so no, it definitely is the same thing. This is a new team and you e been with them for one day. They have a lineup that makes sense. But thinking about it more, Darko is the type of guy who will use a win as an excuse not to change the lineup, so maybe this is a dangerous proposition.
