I'll root for both of them to succeed. Great kids. Hard workers. Winning smiles.

That said, RJ was one of the more frustrating players I've ever watched because it always seemed like he was about to turn the corner and then he'd regress and it was mostly unforced errors that caused the regression. Falling back on bad patterns of tunnel vision and sporadic defense and an inflated sense of his trajectory.

Based on his numbers tonight, they're getting an introductory dose of good RJ. And I'd like to think that it means he'll take a step back there and focus on how he can consistently help an NBA team. Pick your spots and play D unless you're red hot. But my gut tells me that the other RJ is close behind and he'll divide that board like DeRozan could only have dreamed.

RJ's have a good game stat-wise but he's still a -6.

That just seems odd. Like I understand hating someone like Noah who came here and said he was just partying and stealing money. Or other guys who just didn't give a sh*t. But that didn't seem like the case.

Now I want he knicks to beat the snot out of the raps when we play them but I don't want to see RJ or IQ play bad in TOR. I am hoping for a win/win deal. We got a really good player in OG so I am happy!

There are unfortunately posters here who do want to see him fail.
It's nothing against RJ, it's more just a lack of emotional intelligence and personal issues having to feel vindicated and stroke their egos.

That's not to say every poster who has a negative perspective of RJ falls under this bucket.
There are certainly many others here who would recognize his good games and cheer for team success but feel his overall contributions have still been underwhelming.

It's very clear who falls into which category.
