This one hurts a bit. The execution in the 4th quarter needs to get better and the guards need to step up. It's not going to be easier tonight in Sacramento.

the roster as-is is flawed....question is do we pull the trigger on some moves soon or ride it out and retool later? personally i've been tired of us being in "evaluation mode" when are we going to start cashing in our chips?

I'd be looking to package Suggs as part of a bigger deal if it presents itself. Sell high. Dude sucks, he plays good defense but the offense is never going to be there and it's a poor fit with Paulo and franz. Plus he's another fultz/Issac with injuries although not as bad yet. I'd be very weary paying him big money.

To go along with some of the points made in other threads…

At some point the Front Office has to do their job and make roster decisions while the clock is ticking with Paolo and Franz.

Who really runs the offense though? We're almost halfway through the season and I have no idea if AB is capable of running an NBA offense.

Even Cole doesn't really run many plays. He brings the ball up the court and we begin the 'pass the ball around the arc' before we get into some ISO set with 8-10 seconds on the clock.

It is our guard play that costs us the game. Look at the stat line. Suggs, AB and Cole absolutely gave us nothing tonight. Suggs TOs and missed layups are killers for this game. We need to improve our guard play. We may need to look into Feb 8th

They are a play-in squad, 8 or 9 seed. Crazy effort to start the year carried them but it wasn’t sustainable. Isaac and Ingles injuries not helping. Need to upgrade the roster.

No, they do not play like play in team tonight. They are great. Do not forget they still have Curry and Klay

They dont even trust their teammates right now and are just taking turns playng 1 on 1.

if i were management, i would be doing nothing but focusing on creating space for those guys, because they are being double teamed all game long and zoned.

I pity the fools watching magic's 4th quarters. It's a pain in the *** every single time we run the same isos uptemo no system scheme, just like watching varsity games. It's painful for real

oh its dreadful. teams are feasting on us having no guards that can run an offense and make open 3's.

I am glad that Paolo and Franz are showing flashes of being able to get the ball and make a play. But when 36 year old Joe Ingles can come off the bench moving 1MPH and average more assist then all 3 of your rotation guards, it's time to make a move.

Had the size advantage and didn't even take advantage of it.

I can already hear Coach start off with his coined phrase where he states what went wrong but you have to give credit to *insert team name here*

Good coaches in the NBA are rare. Look around the league.. Can you count 10 of them? I've been watching the NBA way too long to not know most NBA coaches aren't very good at their jobs. Mosley's offense is garbage... has been. You have guys on the team that can run PnR and Mosley refuses to let them. Instead it's Banchero hero ball at the end of games. That ain't going to work.

He'll help in the respect that he'll give them another ball handler that they need.

But he obviously will make the 3PT shooting, which is already the worst in the league, even worse than it is now and he's also not really going to help the turnovers that much as he's a relatively high turnover player himself.

What happened to the profanity feature? I liked Realgm because you never really had to worry about that.

He has no guards to work with when Suggs is struggling too. He's been our most consistent one.

Tell me why? What's the reasoning behind it? They got away with Klay Thompson and Kuminga on Banchero. Banchero should have been working one side of the floor from the low block. He can play make from there too. They did a couple of times.. it worked.. one bucket and two free throws and then instead Wagner out by the hash mark forced a pass into Banchero who can't catch it.. over and back. But blame the shooting.

You and I have been harping on this for 6 months straight.

Cap space and cap flexibility, while very nice to have compared to the alternative, are both finite.

Weltman is going to have to stop sitting on his hands at some point and it's sooner than some of y'all think.

Return to Orlando Magic
