I think Barrett can be a decent player, but Quickley has Maxey potential.

I have no idea where all this RJ hate is coming from. Guy is coming home and is genuinely excited to come play for us. What is happening to this place?
Right? The guy drops 19 and 9 on 50% shooting in a win his first game, and most of the raps board hates him for that. Strange
I posed this question to another person who made a similar comment.
Why is discussing his previous 4.5 years worth of performance considered hating? He had a good first game, that doesn't make the other 297 disappear. He is historically a very bad shooter and very bad from an efficiency standpoint, criticism is valid until proven otherwise.
Oh man I wanna hammer the irony of this considering your other posts

There is no irony, because RJ has not changed anything in his 4+ years, and Scottie changed his mechanics over an off season, he also only played 2 years prior.
2 years is less than 4 years.

Props TZ!

Not what I am referring to though

barrett does everything else better and is still a competent three point shooter. and the upside to trent is not even comparable to barrett
The reality is that he does not do everything else better.
Barrett is not significantly better as a defender, is a less efficient player than GTJ (yet shoots more), and does not have any high level skill (whereas GTJ is a high level shooter).
And no - RJ is not a competent three point shooter. He is a career 34% shooter. He is a below average shooter and that is just an undeniable fact.
trent is shooting 39.9%, barrett is at 43%. barrett is 83% from the line, trent is 65%. trent used to be a better defender but not anymore.

Getting to the on thing Barrett does do better for sure.
However, your initial assessment was he is "light years" worse, which is undeniably false.

Being more excited about Quickley =/= hating RJ.
It's literally just answering the question. Maybe some people gave reasons for their answers. The horror.
I haven't seen any excessive negativity towards RJ... yet.
Make a poll "are you pulling for RJ?" and the people who answer no would be legitimate haters.

One is the guy we traded OG for, the other is a negative value contract.

Barrett is very meh. he's got some intangibles and youth is on his side but he hasn't shown top BBIQ . and we know low BBIQ after watching Precious, Boucher, and even Flynn.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

Barrett was traded so that we matched salaries basically. and he's better than Precious and Flynn

He has low IQ but he is a genius compared to Precious

truth. so many players missing that mental aspect of their game while they have the physical attributes and skillset to be able be really good players
