He was drafted to be a win now player. Bobby himself said it.

Very disappointing that he’s so behind that he can’t even play in 905 games atm.

I dont watch college basketball, and like most people I watch those extended player highlights after a draft pick is made.

From what I have seen on his youtube tapes, Webster/Masai selected mostly a 1 dimensional player. When you select a 1 dimensional shooter, you better had a roster with players that can get him the space and open looks he needs to succeed. Because I just havent seen any proof he can create his own space to take advantage of his shooting range. And theres no way he develops a handle. Only player that went one dimensional with dribbling to a more complete player was DeMar and he worked his ass off at it.

We all know you cant create space for shooters like him simply by moving the ball around.

With the current numbers, all signs point to a bust. But Im not sure who else would be better at 13.

It is so unfortunate because you can see he has the flow, speed and awareness on court... but if he can't break through his own mental wall, no one will be able to do it for him.

The NBA is filled with mental hurdles, every single year new players with more talent enter the league and test guys. Players play mental games with each other just by the body language they project when they walk by each other on court. You need to find a way to get around that block and find the confidence that shakes the other guy, if you can't you end up out of this league fast. You only get so many chances to prove your stuff.

Some players shine in those moments, and those are the ones you want, because its not easy to thrive in do or die moments. A good example are FTs in the final minute of the game, no one is guarding you, the rim is in the same place it always has been, you have made this shot thousands of times, yet every single heart in the arena from those that want your to make it to those that do not, is focused on the importance of this event. Can you tune it out and do what you have always done? We have seen that even all-stars who shoot 85% from that line will clang 2 free throws in a row when the importance of those free throws means winning a 7 game series or going home for the summer.

You can't teach the confidence that Larry Bird had, some have it but most never will. When you see it, you trade for it, you pay big $$ for it. When you follow Larry Legend, you notice he was always testing the other guys, including his own teammates. He made sure you knew that he was the best player in the room and that there was not a shred of doubt about it. (Sometimes you wonder if he enjoyed the game, or if he just had some sort of mental compulsive disorder that made him lose sleep over the most trivial challenges to his dominance.)

The first 2 road games are against Bufkin!

"Monday night, Toronto moved Dick into the next phase of this plan, sending him down to the G League where he’ll likely spend the next two weeks while the Raptors head out on a West Coast road trip."

“It’s going to be (an) opportunity for him with everything that he’s worked on last two weeks, kind of like to put it in a game set up and play,” Rajaković said. “I think that that's very healthy for him.”

I'd love to see that quote. I'm sure that Bobby said something like, "we think he can help us now". I very much doubt he said "we drafted him to be a win-now player".

Gradey is now 20. Podz is also 20, he was born in February while Gradey was born in November, but both were born in 2003. Still way too early to say anything definite other than right now Podz is a way better player.

He’s playing right now. Let’s see if there’s any improvement.

If he comes up this year or next and contributes consistently, it's going to feel like a bonus more than a return on pick investment. Just like Masai and Bobby have planned...

I still believe in Dick. Not expecting any significant contribution in the big leagues until 2025-2026, his third year.

It amazes me that the kid can’t shoot, 19, 20, 30, a shooter is a shooter. He continues to get wide open looks and can’t hit them in the NBA or G league

Tonight 0-3 so far from downtown

Bufkin just hit a 3 in Gradey Dick's grill. I was wondering who that baller who has skills was lol.

I can't watch this anymore. The 905 suck and Gradey Dick may be the worst guy on the floor for them. Meanwhile Bufkin looks like he has actual NBA skill.
